Great dye for APC-Cy7 channel.
Application Area: Flow Cyotometry dead cell staining
"I use the product for live-dead staining in multi-color flow cytometry. Usually fluorophores for APC-Cy7 channel (Ex. 633 nm, Em ~780 nm) like APC-Cy7, APC-eFluor780 etc., is dimmer than ones of other channels. However, this live-dead kit shows quite high S/N ratio and gives us a very satisfying stain. Thus if you want to get a clear separation of dead cells without sacrificing other brighter channels, use this reagent. Of course, as the name indicates, cells are fixable."
The LIVE/DEAD Fixable Near-IR Dead Cell Stain Kit provides the stable components to determine the viability of cells prior to the fixation and permeabilization required for intracellular antibody staining or prior to elimination of biohazardous materials using formaldehyde fixation. The amine-reactive LIVE/DEAD Fixable Near-IR Dead Stain is an amine reactive dye that binds covalently to intracellular and extracellular amines in cells with compromised membranes, whereas this reactivity is restricted to amines on the cell surface in viable cells. The fluorescence difference between dead and live cells is greater than 50-fold. The staining pattern is preserved following formaldehyde fixation.
Features
The LIVE/DEAD Fixable Near-IR Stain can be excited using either a red laser. The near-IR fluorescent dye has an excitation maximum of approximately 633 nm that is excited well with a red or HeNe laser, and an emission of approximately 750 nm. Since live and dead cells can be discriminated using a single dye and a single channel of a flow cytometer, it is an ideal choice for multi-color experiments.
