Sera-Mag SpeedBeads Neutravidin™-Coated Magnetic Particles exhibit high affinity when binding to biotinylated ligands such as proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides. The particles are available with a 3500-4500 pmol/mg biotin-binding range.
The core of the particle is made by a free radical emulsion polymerization of styrene and acid monomer. Two layers of magnetite are coated onto this core, resulting in faster magnetic response times, while the surface is modified to minimize non-specific binding of proteins. Neutravidin™ (NA) is then covalenty bound to the particle surface.
