Robust, great service, expensive, and the software leaves a lot to be desired.

"As a colony picker, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. The service team is fantastic, as well as the backend engineering groups. They are great to work with. However, the software itself leaves a lot to be desired. If you want to pick and plate, this is your machine. If you are particular about patterns, or modifications, it can be very expensive to make a change. Couple things, 1mm picking minimum, service packages are the most expensive in the industry (but they are good at what they do). Overall a good machine, but it does leave a lot to be desired in terms of customizability natively built in. The positive of that, is that it's a simple walk up instrument."

The QPix™ 400 Series Microbial Colony Pickers combine intelligent image analysis with precise automation for fast and efficient screening of large libraries and can be used for a variety of applications including zones of inhibition screening, blue/white screening, DNA library management, etc. Capable of picking up to 3000 colonies per hour, it will streamline your workflow. In addition to microbial screening, the system automates several sample preparation and plate handling processes such as transfer of bacterial liquid culture and plating on agar. With a variety of data tracking and assay tools, the QPix Software streamlines the control and management of complex and iterative processes.
