Ovation® E8 & E12 Electronic Multichannel Pipettes by VistaLab Technologies

"We love the Ovation multichannel electronic pipettes. They are indispensable for the number of ELISA plates we do. We use the larger volume ones (25ul-850ul) which can accommodate our most used volume of 100ul per well. 12 wells at a time fills a plate in less than a minute. The titration function is also a thumb-saver for sure and has good accuracy. The curves come out consistent plate to plate, with no out-of-place points. They are pretty robust, but when they require calibration or repair it is a painful process. The last time we sent a pipette for repair it was about a 5-week return. We had no confirmation the pipettes were received or that they were in process. A call to check on them received no return call. We joke that the entire place must be run by one very overworked person."

"The multichannel pipette is easy to use and holds its charge through multiple rounds of testing. The overall design is easy to handle ambidextrously, though I'll note the screen can't be read by a left-handed user, so they have to rely on the sound to track their dispensing. Once a user has the hang of it, it is very reliable."

""Snappy" as we have termed him, is used for serial dilutions for ELISA plate assays. It produces great, reproducible results. It is very easy to use, Helps to reduce hand fatigue, and wrist pain. Unfortunately "Snappy" does not like non-Vista tips, which causes some issues with the tips seating all the way onto the instrument causing some issues with volumes if not seated correctly. When " Snappy" does have issues and needs to be sent in for repairs, his absence is absolutely felt."

"Ovation pipettes have a different look and feel than a traditional pipette, but I like how well they conform to my hand to reduce wrist and hand strain. The electronic pipettes are easy to program and save a lot of time. The only downside I've found is that they do tend to require repair more frequently than other pipettes."

"I found the multichannel channel pipette comfortable to hold, ergonomic in design and I particularly liked the seal that was achieved using your tips. The click as a confirmation of having a proper seal was very useful. Being able to stand the pipettes on the bench top was incredibly useful and helped to maintain sterility with the tips attached. I really enjoyed using it and felt that it not only speed up my ability to pipette, but felt very natural and I really never had to worry about uneven filling of the channels as tends to sometimes be a problem with my traditional multichannel pipettes. "This is a wonderful pipette overall. I do have an issue on occasion when all of the tips do not hold the liquid and start to drip. This is corrected by making sure the tips are attached firmly, so I have gotten use to checking them before filling the tips. It is simple and quick to use. I really to love it."

"If you are experiencing pain or discomfort from repetitive motion injuries, I would highly recommend these pipettes. They are easy to use, easy to program and fit well in your hand. After almost 20 years at the bench, I, not surprisingly, developed carpal tunnel syndrome. "The pipette has been great to use over the past 2 years when we are using 96 well plates, PCR tubes, or 8-well chip dividers. There are a variety of functions allowing us to go through a whole procedure without having to change the settings. These are remembered across uses so if we are repeating the same assay for a week, the settings never have to be changed. The ergonomic design is definitely a departure from our standard pipettes and I've found it to be more comfortable during a long day of use. A long day doesn't deplete the batteries in the pipette."

"These have been integrated into our lab for use in ELISA, flow cytometry assays, and SPR screening. The ability for these units to stand upright while keeping the tips on has been fantastic, and no other multichannel does that!
