Great instrument which can produce hundreds of high quality images in a short time.
Application Area:Purity measurement and structural analysis of cardiomyocytes
"This instrument is great for high throughput image acquisition. In order to obtain good images (low background and focused) it is necessary to invest a considerable ammount of time setting up the instrument, which is worth it as the instrument can scan hundreds or thousands of images automatically after that. The images can then be analyzed using compatible software which contain options to suit almost any requirement. The instrument manual is probably one of the easiest to follow manuals I've ever seen, it is informative and contains plenty of useful tips. I always recommend new users read the manual, at least the sections relevant to their work. The images do use a lot of memory space and the data has to be managed regularly to avoid the software slowing down or crashing due to low memory space."

User-friendly system.
Application Area:Imaging reader
"I like it in terms of user-friendly system and image quality. However, it's not a confocal based system so it does not have a low signal option. Its hard to get a good image."

"Good training and after support from Perkin Elmer makes getting a new assay off the ground relatively easy. Once you have learnt how to use the functions a huge amount of results can be obtained."

"Great when it works but has a tendency to be temperamental. Excellent imaging capabilities, the applications seem endless. Used for live cell imaging of autophagy. Plates can be expensive. Need to check that the objective lens is compatible with the plates before starting experiments. Software (Harmony and Columbus) for analyzing results in an unbiased way is great. Perkin Elmer gives great service as well with regular training workshops."
