The results for size are not robust and do not match with DLS.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that sizing data are not so reproducible. The LM10 is a manual system and data can be impacted by some of the settings chosen by the user. A key piece of equipment when working with extracellular vesicles.

"Our Nanosight is a number of years old however, I am new to the field of nanoparticle analysis. From attending conferences on extracellular vesicles, Nanosight seems to be one of the main methods of analysis of these particles. I have found, with the help of excellent support staff at Malvern Panalytical, that the nanosight is very easy to use. The machine generates a lot of information in a short period and the results are easy to interpret. I believe a nanosight machine is a key component for anyone working in this field. The Malvern staff have been paramount in our understanding and have been extremely helpful regardless of the age of the machine."

Great results and easy to use but expensive.

  • Application Area:Analyze nanoparticle size and distribution

"This machine is really good for nanoparticle research. Especially, it's really good for metal nanoparticle study. I am using this machine for exosome in plasma now and it shows pretty good and accurate numbers. You can measure nanoparticles' hydrodynamic size, concentration, and distribution. Based on the manual, it can be used for fluorescence observation but I couldn't use it. I think LM10 is not good for fluorescence. In my opinion, Malvern's technical support is quite poor and expensive."

"We have been using NanoSight LM10 for years to quantify extracellular vesicles. It has been given us high quality and reproducible results. It is easy to use once you understanding how it works. The instrument and software were set up according to our needs. Training was given - step by step instructions on how to operate the instrument and how to interpret the results. It requires minimal care and maintenance. There is not a whole lot of accessories you need either. It is simply and very smart."

The Malvern Panalytical NanoSight LM10 instrument provides an easy-to-use platform for nanoparticle characterization.

The LM10 uses the technology of Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) which allows rapid and accurate analysis of the size distribution and concentration of all types of nanoparticles from 10nm to 1000nm in diameter, depending on the instrument configuration and sample type.

The system is a highly flexible and robust instrument that can be upgraded at any time to fit the changing needs of both routine testing and research laboratories.  It comes with a choice of cameras, lasers, and fi lters as well as the option of a temperature-controlled sample chamber.

Malvern Panalytical NanoSight LM10 Features:

  • Nanoparticle analysis range: typically 10 nm - 1000 nm, dependent on particle material
  • Particle type: any
  • Solvent: any non-corrosive solvent and water. A range of solvent-resistant seals are available.
  • Power requirement (adapter supplied): 110-220V
  • Laser options: 40mW at 638 nm, 60mW at 405 nm, 60mW at 488 nm or 75mW at 532 nm
