Description
Streptozocin is a DNA-methylating antibiotic with applications in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. It is toxic to mammalian pancreas insulin-producing cells, affecting glucose metabolism, and is also used in diabetes research for its ability to induce type 1 diabetes.
