Obtaining single cell suspensions
We used the 0,45 uM cell strainer to get rid of the aggregates for single cell sequencing and also for colony formation assay from dissociated lungs (metastasis assay). Worked fine, cheap and robust.

The new SARSTEDT cell strainers provide an innovative, quick, and easy-to-handle solution for the preparation of single-cell suspensions (primary cell cultures, flow cytometry). Three high-grade nylon mesh options are available: 40, 70, and 100 µm. The following features and benefits facilitate the working process and reduce contamination risks:
- Color-coded pore sizes – 40 µm (blue), 70 µm (white) and 100 µm (yellow Circumferential rim with handle for easy and safe handling
- Four cams on the frame ensure continuous ventilation during filtration to prevent the ‘air lock’ effect and the cell strainer from overflowing
- Stackable design enables multi-stage filtration
- Compatible with standard 50 ml centrifuge tubes
- Adapter enables compatibility with a large number of smaller tubes (e.g. 15 ml centrifuge tubes, 12 x 75 mm FACS tubes)
