FM4

GL Sciences, Inc.Available: Worldwide

The FM4 Air Sampler is the world's first portable device for simultaneous collection and analysis of particle and gas-phase PFAS in air. It uses an impactor and three collectors, including the newly developed GAIAC adsorbent, which enables efficient collection and elution of gas-phase PFAS. PFAS can be analyzed by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS after solvent elution.

Description

This application describes the elution of atmospheric ionic and neutral PFAS from collected samples using organic solvents, followed by analysis with GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS. The FM4 Air Sampler for PFAS is the world’s first innovative portable device that enables simultaneous collection and analysis of both particulate and gaseous PFAS in the atmosphere. FM4 consists of an impactor and three types of collectors, allowing for efficient separation and collection of PFAS in both phases. PFAS collected in each collector can be eluted with an organic solvent and comprehensively analyzed by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS. A newly developed activated carbon adsorbent (GAIAC) is used for gas-phase PFAS collection. Traditional activated carbon has challenges such as complex pore structures and poor elution efficiency. In contrast, GAIAC, made from synthetic resin fibers, features optimized pore structures and surface activity, enabling efficient PFAS adsorption and elution.
