Rtx-Wax Columns
Rtx-Wax columns are the most inert and efficient PEG columns currently available. The extended operating temperature range allows analysis of compounds having a wide volatility range and ensures low bleed at temperatures as high as 250 °C. Selectivity is comparable to other Carbowax columns for compounds of intermediate to high polarity.
This column works great for the ASTM D6548 method.
ASTM D6548
I use this column for ASTM D6548. I have found the results to be reproducible. This column is perfect for this method due to high temperature limit.

A rugged and reliable choice for the analysis of glycols in water
From airplane and runway deicing to hydraulic fracturing operations, glycols are common chemicals used in industry, and as a result, chemical and environmental laboratories often test samples for their presence. However, the most frequently used sample introduction technique—direct aqueous injection—puts a significant demand on the analytical column and injection port liner. The columns best suited for water injections employ polyethylene glycol (PEG) stationary phases. PEG phases offer a unique selectivity, and their polar nature is compatible with an aqueous injection. An evaluation of ethylene glycol (EG) and propylene glycol (PG) response on PEG columns from a variety of vendors was conducted under optimized conditions and is presented here.
Reliable Low-Level Analysis of Glycols in Water Using Split Injection
Obtaining consistent results for low-level analysis of glycols in water samples is difficult when using splitless injection due primarily to issues with backflash, poor peak shape, and shifting retention times. The split injection method shown here avoids these problems and reliably produces good chromatographic results. Lifetime testing demonstrated that Rtx-Wax columns produce stable results, even after column integrity was challenged with 600 water injections.
