Great value for analytical capability
Analysis of biological specimens for pharmaceutical residues
Ordered through a local vendor so I do not have to contact manufacturer for after sales support, product is easy to install on GC. (I actually use Rxi-5Sil MS Columns, I don't know how to go back to change from Rxi5HT) They are low bleed and versatile for the array of compounds: pesticide and pharmaceutical residues. I have never had a bad experience with these types of columns. Great job everyone.

Very good results and effective GC columns.
Analyze contaminants in particulate air samples
It is easy to install and well rolled around the cage. I suggest for future design if you can put some marks on the column to follow how much length we should cut.

Good column and we continue to use it
GC-MS pesticide analysis
The GC-MS column from Restek is good compared to all other competitor columns. Reduces the time for backing, less bleeding at higher temperatures providing better base line and reduces silica interferences. The column life time is also pretty good compared to other columns. The ease of method development for unknown molecules is appreciable due to all the additional stability of the column.

I love Restek products!
Measure volatile metabolites in bacterial samples
I have been using Restek products since the early 1990s and always look to them for quality products. This column has great performance and low bleed at high temperatures.

Value vs competition
Fatty acid profile
Used different i.d.s for FID and MS. No problems. Good separation.

Good value for the money.
Solvent analysis
Similar results to a DB-5 at a lower cost. Good value for the money.

The columns are designed specifically to be the best columns available, for exceptional inertness, ultra-low bleed, and reproducible retention and selectivity.
In addition to outstanding performance, this combination of column characteristics assures Rxi® columns will have long lifetimes. The Restek chemists also have developed a stable, reproducible manufacturing process, so that Rxi® columns will meet your needs every time you install a new column.
What do Rxi® columns mean to you?
- Ultra-low bleed.
- Exceptional inertness.
- Reproducible performance, column after column.
- 40% longer lifetime from specially designed fused silica tubing.
- Columns processed for high temperature applications.
- Temperature range: -60 to 400°C.
Analyse More Semivolatiles Samples Per Shift Using Split Injection
This technical note from Restek studies the use of split injection for increased sample throughput for semivolatiles analysis. By employing split injection with a higher initial GC oven temperature and faster cycle time, analysis times are fast with improved repeatability allowing more samples to be run per shift. Results indicated that by splitting off a portion of the sample, less column maintenance will be required and that using split injection for semivolatiles analysis offers significant advantages over splitless injection.
Rxi® Technology for Accurate Trace-Level Analysis and New EZGC™ Software from Restek
In this video Jaap de Zeeuw discusses two new technologies highlighted by Restek at Pittcon 2013. Jaap tells SelectScience how the exceptional inertness and stability of Restek’s Rxi® columns makes them well suited to accurate trace-level analyses. In addition to discussing some of the other key benefits of Rxi® technology, including retention time stability and longer column life, Jaap describes some of the key applications areas such as pesticide, PAH and solvent analysis. Jaap also introduces EZGC™, Restek’s new software for GC method development. Interview filmed by SelectScience at Pittcon 2013.
New Low Bleed GC Column and Flow Meter
Watch this Restek interview at Pittcon 2010 to find out about new additions to the Rxi® ultra inert, high performance fused silica GC column family. The Rxi® 6-24 Sil MS increases the maximum temperature to 320oC with very low bleed and is applicable to mass spectrometry applications. A new Flow Meter and website launch are also introduced.
