MAGic™ Beads Protein A are super-paramagnetic porous beads coupled with an alkali resistant Protein A ligand. Optimized for purification of monoclonal antibodies directly from cell culture harvests, thus eliminating centrifugation or filtration, such as from hybridoma or CHO cells, where sanitization of beads with NaOH is desired between the uses. High binding capacity and fast magnetic response makes the beads suitable for separation even in large-volume samples.
- Recover your mAb and skip centrifugation and filtration to remove cells.
- Top performance binding capacity, up to 65mg IgG/ml of settled beads.
- Ability to clean the beads between the purification cycles using 0.5M NaOH.
- Stable and reusable for up to 100 times using 0.5M NaOH with 15min contact time.
Large scale magnetic separation for the purification of mAbs directly from cell culture
Chromatography remains central to downstream bioprocessing, especially in monoclonal antibody (mAb) production, where clarified cell cultures are essential to prevent interference with packed beds. As upstream intensification drives higher cell densities, traditional clarification methods such as centrifugation and filtration have become costly bottlenecks, adding complexity without directly contributing to product purity or concentration.
Discover how scalable magnetic separation technology offers a transformative alternative. By combining clarification and capture into a single step, it streamlines workflows, conserves resources, and boosts yield to empower researchers to rethink efficiency in advanced biomanufacturing.
