LC-4000 Series Integrated HPLC and UHPLC Systems
The LC-4000 Series is the latest in a long history of innovative HPLC systems developed by JASCO reaching all the way back to the start of commercial HPLC in the early 1970s. The concept of the integrated LC-4000 series HPLC provides key separation platforms at 50MPa, 70MPa and 130MPa which correspond to conventional HPLC, the increasingly popular Rapid Analysis (RHPLC) and sub 2um UHPLC, respectively. Each platform is suppl…

Bioanalysis
This HPLC device is very solid, versatile and easy to use, according to Japanese tradition. The separate modules are completely autonomous, allowing to build the basis for HPLC according to the job requirements. I’ve worked for over 20 years and still use pumps I used 20 years ago! The fluorimetric detector has no competitors, is one of the most sensitive FLD in the world. The value for money is beneficial; it is currently one of the cheapest devices on the market. I recommend Jasco HPLC to all those researchers who do not want closed systems and complicated software.

Bioanalysis
Very easy to use and the modularity is an appreciable feature. Recommended for routine analysis of pre-clinical and clinical samples. It is possible to customize the configurations (one or two pumps and autosamplers with mass spectrometers) to extend the application field.

Each platform is supplied with a dedicated pump and autosampler matched to the operating pressure and all three platforms share common detectors optimized for high-speed 100Hz acquisition and the narrow peak shapes common to both RHPLC and UHPLC.
Features
- 300mm wide footprint
- Each system component is completely stackable into a modest height
- The system is fully integrated with complete system monitoring
- All user replaceable components are accessible through the front panel
- Vertical leak/drain system to channel away solvent
- Integrated earthquake securing option
- All detectors include 100Hz acquistion with interchangeable flowcells
Preparative HPLC Systems
The LC-4000 preparative HPLC systems includes three platform options
- Up to 20mL/min for columns up to 21.2mm ID
- Up to 50mL/min for columns up to 3cm ID
- Up to 120mL/min for columns up to 5cm ID
Ion chromatography of chlorate ions in tap water
In this application note, ion chromatography was used to separate and determine the concentration of chlorate ions in tap water. Chloric acid (Hydrogen chlorate), a strong oxidizing agent, occurs as a decomposition product derived from chlorine dioxide and sodium hypochlorite which are used as a disinfectant for water clarification.
Ultra-high speed separation of food additives in a soft drink
In this application note, the usefulness of an X-PressPak V-C (2.0 mm I.D. x 50 mm L.) packed with 2 μm diameter packing material for the ultra-high speed separation of food additives was examined. A 4λ−UV detector was used for the simultaneous monitoring of these additives at four different wavelengths. The results were examined to determine whether the performance of the column and chromatography system exceeds those of conventional HPLC.
Analysis of polystyrene oligomers by semi-micro GPC
In this report, JASCO shows polystyrene oligomer analysis using a GPC column designed for high-performance analysis. Analysis using the LC-4000 Series RHPLC system results in a 30% solvent saving compared to conventional separations.
High speed analysis of melamine in dairy
In this application note, the analysis results of melamine in a milk product was measured using a PDA detector. Melamine is an organic nitrogen compound which has a triazine ring in the center of its structure. It is used as the material of melamine resin which has high thermal and water resistance and is used for mechanical strengthening.
High speed analysis of dabsyl amino acids in collagen using UHPLC
In this application note, collagen was hydrolyzed with the DAB-Label kit and the derivatized amino acids were separated by Ultra High-performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) using UV detection.
Analysis of parabens using UHPLC
Parabens, esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, are used as preservatives in cosmetics and foods. In this application note, JASCO demonstrates how UHPLC can be applied to provide a high throughput method to determine the content of esters.
Analysis of Dabsyl Amino Acids using HPLC
The pre-column derivatization using HPLC for amino acids analysis has prevailed as a simultaneous separation method of multiple components using a selective, high-sensitivity detector and a reversed phase column. Many results of amino acids analysis using dabsyl chloride as a reagent for pre-column derivatization have been reported because the amino acids derivatized by dabsyl chloride are more stable than those by other derivatization agents. Also a simply a UV/VIS detector can be used with high sensitivity. This application note demonstrates the measurement of the standard mixture of amino acids.
Determination of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester and Triglyceride in Mixture of Biodiesel Fuel and Diesel Fuel Using JASCO's LC-2000 Plus Series Modular Components
Carbon dioxide exhausted from the combustion of biodiesel in a diesel engine is reabsorbed by plants through photosynthesis, offsetting the amount of carbon dioxide consumed by the plant material: carbon neutrality. As a result, determination of fatty acid methyl esters and triglycerides in fuel is now of increased interest. This application note details the use of JASCO LC 2000 Plus series modular components in the measurement of fatty acid methyl ester and triglyceride in mixture of biodiesel fuel and diesel fuel. The LC-2000Plus Series is JASCO's latest development in High Performance Liquid Chromatography, meeting the key requirements of today's analytical laboratory.
