Description

KNAUER has been known for its reliable and robust HPLC columns for more than 40 years. The field of analytical HPLC columns is a large area, where we offer a solution for nearly any application task.

All phases are filled in KNAUER´s Vertex III Column hardware that is available in many different column dimensions and can be equipped with an integrated precolumn. This technique couples the guard column without addition of extra dead volume and is thereby the ideal solution to protect your analytical column without loss in performance.

KNAUER offers silica gel and polymer based analytical HPLC and UHPLC columns from the in house produced Eurospher and Eurospher II family for the analysis of small molecules, the Eurosil Bioselect family for the analysis of larger Biomolecules and the Eurokat family for the analysis of sugars, organic acids and alcohols as often needed by the food industry. Furthermore, a wide range of other materials are available filled in our Vertex III column hardware.

Verification of Mycotoxin Patulin from Apple Juice with Isocratic HPLC

The permitted daily exposure for the mycotoxin patulin is 0.05 µg/mL in apple juice, as stated by the Scientific Committee on Food for the European Commission. In this application note, KNAUER presents a fast protocol for the determination of patulin from apple juice using the AZURA® HPLC plus with a Eurospher II column.

Alternative Xylitol Extraction via HPLC Purification from Fermented Biomass

A latest approach in bioethanol generation is the usage of yeast and bacteria that uses C5 sugars for fermentation and the valorization of bio refinery by products. Here it is shown that a hemicellulose-like fermentation mash has a high content of the artificial sweetener xylitol and that its purification by HPLC can be accomplished using polymer based Eurokat columns. The product is soluble in water and can easily be used for further applications.
