Application Area:

Quantification of DNA/RNA and proteins

Great product for quantifying our DNA samples as it requires less volume. With the printer it makes it easier to label the tubes and record the data later. Thanks for this instrument.

Quickly and easily assess sample concentration and purity ratios with the Thermo Scientific™ NanoDrop™ Lite Plus Microvolume Spectrophotometer, the entry-level complement to the full-featured Thermo Scientific™ NanoDrop™ One/OneC and NanoDrop Eight Spectrophotometers. While offering fewer features than our premium models, this instrument delivers fast, accurate measurements in an easy-to-use, affordable package. The NanoDrop Lite Plus Spectrophotometer is a valuable teaching tool and is ideal for quality check measurements in busy research labs as well. Measure purified DNA, RNA, and protein concentration up to 30 Abs and calculate critical A260/A280 and A260/A230 purity ratios using trusted NanoDrop technology.

The NanoDrop Lite Plus Spectrophotometer is designed for routine measurements of nucleic acid and protein samples using only 1–2 μL. Our pioneering sample-retention technology eliminates the need to dilute highly concentrated samples, making measurements easy. Simply pipette your sample directly onto the optical measurement pedestal, measure, and wipe clean with a lint-free wipe. Its compact design, with built-in controls and software, means the NanoDrop Lite Plus Spectrophotometer takes up little space on your benchtop.

With an intuitive user interface and modern industrial design, the NanoDrop Lite Plus Spectrophotometer is the instrument of choice for basic microvolume measurements. Even if budgets are tight, your lab can have a NanoDrop, too.

NGS success: Next-generation sequencing sample preparation with the NanoDrop One spectrophotometer

Achieving accurate sequencing results requires a reliable nucleic acid quantity and purity assessment. Currently, qPCR serves as the gold standard quantification method but is expensive, time consuming, often requires vetting SOPs, and does not provide purity details. As a convenient alternative to qPCR, the Thermo Scientific™ NanoDrop™ One/OneC spectrophotometer provides a sensitive quantification measurement and identifies common nucleic acid contaminants that prevent sequencing success.

This webinar will provide an overview of the NanoDrop One/OneC spectrophotometer as an easier and cheaper alternative to qPCR for ensuring high-quality sequencing data.

Key learning objectives

  • Understand and review the NGS workflow
  • Learn how to set up your sequencing experiments for success
  • Explore the NanoDrop One/OneC Spectrophotometer as an alternative to qPCR quantification

Who should attend?

  • Forensic scientists
  • Genetic scientists
  • Microbiologists
  • Molecular biologists
  • Pharma/biopharma researchers
  • Biomedical researchers
  • Principle investigators
  • Laboratory Technicians/Technologists
  • Agricultural geneticists
  • Scientists interested in improving the success rate of NGS with convenient, accurate, cost-efficient tools
