As a Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet, the Purair BIO minimizes and contains Biosafety Level 1-3 agents, maintaining negative pressure inside the cabinet during operation to prevent contaminants from escaping the work area. HEPA filtration scours 70% of the incoming room air to protect the products, while the remaining 30% of the exhausted air is filtered by a second HEPA filter.Purair BIO cabinets provide ample workspace with environmentally sound operation and low energy consumption.

  • Easy to Install. The biosafety cabinet is self-contained and does not require venting to the outside. Units are portable and may be moved from one location to the next with minimal downtime and without filter changes. Set-up, operation and filter maintenance are straightforward.
  • Energy Efficient. Because filtered air is returned to the room no demands are required of the facility HVAC capacity for make-up air.
  • Cost Effective. Facility ductwork, HVAC and construction costs are eliminated.
  • Safe to Use. Cabinet airflow and face velocity protect users from incidental exposure to particulates.

Cannabis and Botanical Products: Science, Regulation, and Quality Management

This white paper details the history, modern uses, and regulations of cannabis, marijuana, and general botanical production in the United States and offers methods for improved botanical product quality through specialized equipment. Product quality is directly dependent on a consistent, repeatable manufacturing process. Proper laboratory equipment is an essential component for both repeatability and safety. The ideal equipment for cannabis and botanical applications ensures plant or product isolation, contamination control, and proper air filtration. Specially designed ductless fume hoods capture harmful vapors, fumes, and particulates making them a valuable addition to production procedures.

Purair Ductless Technology and USP 800 Compliance Creating a better C-PEC

This paper discusses the design and construction features of a set of engineering controls, collectively known as containment primary engineering controls (C-PECs), for hazardous drugs in healthcare settings. Biological safety cabinets and fume hoods in particular will be examined to identify the features that most effectively prevent exposure and meet USP 800 requirements.
