"The Sartorius series of pipettes are phenomenal and outstanding when compared to equivalent micro-pipettes on the market. Our facility currently uses Sartorius and Eppendorf pipettes for analysis purposes. We frequently experience better results and more ease of use from the Sartorius pipettes when compared to the Eppendorf pipettes. The Sartorius pipettes produce more reliable dispensing and as a result, more reproducible/reliable results. Many of our scientists prefer to solely use the Sartorius pipettes over the Eppendorf and we consider them an essential piece of equipment for our facility!"

"After working in science for many years and aggravating and old injury to my thumb, I was looking for an electronic pipette that included a powered tip release and was reasonably priced. This was a tall order, but I was pleased to find the Picus pipettor from Sartorius that completely filled the requirements. There are a number of options for normal pipetting, reverse pipetting, manual pipetting, and multi-dispensing as well as the ability to adjust filling and emptying speed. Changing the volume is quick and easy. One feature that I really appreciate is the changeable filters. Because I do a lot of pipetting of blood samples it is inevitable that occasionally blood will inadvertently get pulled into the pipette. This has replaceable filters that prevent liquids from being drawn into the pipette. If blood is accidentally drawn up towards the pipette, it is stopped by the filter which is quickly changed, and you can continue on. One drawback for me is that you cannot stop the filling or emptying short of the set volume. It is all or nothing. Sometimes one needs to be able to stop the filling before it reaches the full set volume and empty the tip."

"These are not easy to use and are not very reliable. It is very hard to control especially while dispensing precious samples. Manual pipettes are far superior in terms of ease of use and control. If you get a proper manual pipette and use proper ergonomics, then I see no reason to switch over. I would definitely not get these pipettes again."
