"I have used the MEA system for more than 5 years, in both the UK and China. Maestro MEA is an easy-to-use compact system. It provides a straightforward solution that always gives high-quality and reliable results. Most importantly, the Maestro MEA system keeps developing, which helps customers to extend the research fields they use it for continuously. Now, Maestro has been incorporated into my research, not only for central neural cells, but also peripheral neural cells, as well as organoids. It will be even more great if Maestro MEA software can be improved by equipping more customized functions."

"An easy-to-use system that offers a complete solution without the need for additional software or electrophysiological or bioinformatic skills. When you identify a proper way to plate your cells of interest in the MEA multiwell plates, measurements and data analysis is straightforward and the results are reproducible and of high-quality. Visualization of data during measurements is great, however, not every plot can be exported. This could be improved. A bit more customization during data analysis (e.g. within the cardiac analysis tool) would be desirable."

"MEA recording was easy, very straightforward and intuitive. This is a non-intrusive and simple way to measure electrical and functional abilities of neuronal cultures. It's giving us interesting results and has been a great addition to our work. This is a new endeavor for the field of neuroscience. We understand the cost of making the equipment and the plates are currently high; however, with the progress of this technology, we hope that the cost of making the plates will improve in the future. Undoubtedly, Anxion BioSystems has an excellent customer support system. Our account manager, Debby Hurtado, has been excellent with understanding our lab's needs and providing relevant guidance for our various technical questions. We wholeheartedly encourage many research labs to use this technology."

"Straightforward software, easy-to-use equipment and we have obtained high-quality and reproducible results. My advice for other users is to find a good protocol to plate the cells. Once you have it, the battle is won! You will always get quality data from the Maestro Pro. Data analysis tools are extremely good, no need for a deep and solid understanding of electrophysiology. One could work with the machine and analyze the data without being an expert in electrophysiology."

Great instrument - produces lots of data for publication

"We have been using Maestro MEA system for over 5 years in both Yale University and later Purdue University. This instrument has been a very positive addition to our lab. It is high-throughput and can study the firing properties of neurons in their normal culture medium over long time periods at different temperature settings. Importantly, its software is free, easy to use, and the heatmap display is visually attractive. Many of the images displayed in the software can be readily converted to publication quality figures, which is very neat. The customer support has also been very good."

The Maestro Pro allows you to record multielectrode array (MEA) data from electrically active cells (e.g. neurons, cardiac cells, muscle cells, retina, and zebrafish) as well as real-time cell proliferation, death, morphology, attachment, barrier function, and signaling using impedance.
