Material science
It is a great spectrometer, depending on the equipment installed, it can perform great measurements even in far infrared to 30cm^-1. The software makes its job.

A milestone for the company!
Research and development of adjuvants and agrochemical formulations; quality control of raw material
The FTIR equipment installation was a milestone for the company. We have implemented our own database for quality control of raw materials as well as finished products, improving the quality and reliability of our processes and product formulations. Moreover, we have implemented an agrochemical formulation database which enables us to support the farmers in the identification of pesticide residues in leaves, improving their productivity and profitability.

The instrument changed that changed the strategy of the company
Research and Development and QC analyses of raw materials and final product
The equipment is user friendly, as well as the softwares suite. The quality of the results obtained is very impressive, the charts are very clear. Data and graphics can be exported without losing quality and robustness.

Solids analysis
This system is very good and I have used for several things: The tools it comes with are very useful for doing ATR, IRRAS, DRIFTS. ATR crystals will need to be exchanged at least every year or so and they are fairly expensive.

Very solid instrument that is simple to use.
Organic synthesis, polymers, drug design
The instrument is fairly simple to use and easy to train others on. The ATR unit works well overall, but the press can be a tad quirky. I should also say it only got quirky after about 4 years of use. ATR crystals will need to be exchanged at least every year or so and they are fairly expensive, but my guess is that is the same for all FTIR units. Data analysis software is nice, flexible, and intuitive.
