Good machine.
Plate reader
The machine is good and easy to use. Can read different plate but sometimes the connection between the machine and the computer is disturbed and you need to reconnect them and restart the software.

The ability to tweak the Ex. & Em wavelength was essential to maximize the S/ N.
HTRF Assay development
I found his reader very useful when developing an HTRF assay. Both for endpoint reads and the scanning capability so the proper wavelengths could be determined for kit QC and users to use. The ability to tweak the Ex. & Em wavelength was essential to maximize the S/ N.

Really nice statistical program is included and instant.
Measurement of soil enzymes by fluorescence quantification
The instrument is easily programmed to analyze the fluorescence of soil enzymes and saves us lots of time due to its excellent analysis of the data after it reads the 96 well plates. We have not had to have the unit serviced in over a year and a half of use. It is truly a great asset to our laboratory as we can now achieve a high quality of readings and analysis in a short period of time. It has many other uses but our current use is DNA quantification in 96 well plate and fluorescence of soil enzymes present in our samples.

Great piece of equipment. I would recommend purchasing another one to my PI.
Enzyme activity assay
The plate reader is very user friendly. I like that any settings I have setup for a certain assay can be saved and ready for the next day. This saves a ton of time. The results were readily reproducible. It may be useful to consider if you can change the temperature settings for the assay. We had one instrument with this capability and the other instrument was unable to adjust the temperature. Any issues with the equipment were always promptly resolved by a tech although this was very rare.

Great instrument with good temperature stability for long term kinetics measurements.
High-throughput ananlysis
We like the product very much. We would like to recommend it to others.

Great fluorescence and absorbance system!
Fluorescence, absorbance
The instrument is used for absorbance and fluorescence measurements. It works with all the available plate to 384-well plates. It posses a temperature control system. The measurements are very precise, with the possibility to choose different wavelengths for the endpoint or kinetic measures. The instrument is used especially for ELISA and kinetics tests.

Easy to use!
Fluorescence quantification
The Synergy HTX has been quite easy to learn, implement, and use in the lab. The programming aspect is very user friendly and has a lot of customizability. Although learning the build seems overwhelming, it is actually pretty streamlined once you get familiar. Also, their tech support is amazing (Sam is the best). I highly recommend the product!

Good and reproducible results, reliable instrument and software.
Analyze P. aeruginosa growth pattern and reporter expression in different conditions
The Synergy HTX microplate reader is very useful for analyzing bacterial growth and reporter gene expression in presence of different nutrients and/or antimicrobials as well as testing multiple mutants at once. It allows medium throughput applications with high sensitivity and delivers reproducible results. The hardware is simple to use with a flexible design (choosing between different light sources/filters) and looks durable, the software is very detailed and allows customization of each assay although sometimes seems over complicated. Customer service is good.

Monitoring of Kinase Activity using Next-Generation CSox-Based Substrate Sensors
There are more than 500 protein kinases, many of which have been shown to be dysregulated in disease states and comprise greater than 30% of all drug developments. In this application note, researchers combine chelation-enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) with the sulfonamido-oxine (Sox) chromophore to measure the activity of protein kinases with a direct, homogeneous and continuous format.
Comparison of Assay Methods for the Detection of Residual Protein A in Biological Therapeutics
This poster from BioTek Instruments discusses methods for the detection of Protein A which can be used to ensure that the levels of Protein A do not exceed the FDA guidelines. High levels of Protein A can trigger an immune and toxic response in patients, so its presence in biological therapeutics is strictly monitored. The comparison uses the Cytation™5, Synergy™ HTX and MultiFlo™ FX Microplate Dispenser.
Comparison of Assay Methods for the Detection of Residual Protein A in Biological Therapeutics
Protein A has been shown to leach from columns during purification of antibodies resulting in contamination. This poster provides a comparison of several suitable detection methods for the presence of residual Protein A in therapeutic biological agents including a homogenous proximity assay and conventional ELISA assay. The comparison includes evaluation of the lower detection limit of Protein A as well as screening results for detection of residual Protein A in a panel of nine human IgG antibodies.
Automation of a Homogeneous Proximity Assay for Detection of Residual Protein A in Biological Therapeutics
Protein A is used in affinity chromatography for therapeutic antibody purification and has been shown to leach from columns during purification of antibodies resulting in contamination. Residual Protein A in therapeutic drugs could elicit mitogenic or immunological reactions in patients. This application note demonstrates automation of a HTS compatible homogenous proximity assay for the presence of residual Protein A in biological therapeutics using AlphaLISA technology.
