Record in-situ infrared spectra with Specac’s Supercritical Golden Gate™ ATR Accessory.
Low volume samples can be analyzed spectroscopically at extreme temperatures, up to 300 °C, and at extreme pressures, up to 6000 psi. The stainless-steel sample chamber has a total volume of 28 µl, perfect for when samples are expensive or precious. The high thermal conductivity of the diamond crystal provides rapid temperature stabilization, accurate temperature measurement, and avoids temperature gradients across the sample.
Its key features include:
The top-plate is interchangeable with the other compatible Golden Gate top-plates such as the heated, reaction cell, and coolable top plates. The demountable nature of the top plate is well suited for the preparation of toxic or harmful materials, as they can be prepared in a glove box, sealed, and then measured with a higher degree of operator protection than other infrared sampling methods.
The Golden Gate™ ATR series are particularly appropriate for samples that may polymerize or set during analysis since they can be cleaned off with a knife or abrasive pad without damaging the diamond ATR crystal. Good quality spectra can be achieved from liquids, gels, powders and even hard rocks. Special anvils are available to hold polymer pellets, to seal in and run air/moisture sensitive samples, and to analyze coatings on wires.
