This column is the heart of my GC separations.
Pharmaceutical drug substances analysis
A very rugged column with good reproducibility of retention/results and low bleed even at very high temperature. Life of thease columns is very good. I found that column to column variability is very low. The cost of the column is a little bit high but worth buying.

Highly recommended column for oxygenated C3 analysis.
Analysis of oxygenated C3 products
Excellent column for the analysis of lower alcohols and oxygenated C3 products. Additionally, one of the few columns to go up to temperatures of 300°C and at the same time provide the desired separation.

It is a tremendous tool for GC separations. Very reliable.
Pharmaceuticals
Basically, the separation of USP Class II residual solvents acetonitrile and methylene chloride is fantastic - always higher than 1.5, going up to a 2.1 resolution. The column is tough and very durable. Currently, I have a column of about 6 years, and it is still up and running. I have used this column in different GC's and always get the same good results.

A Preliminary FET Headspace GC-FID Method for Comprehensive Terpene Profiling in Cannabis
This application note describes an FET headspace GC-FID method that was developed for the analysis of terpenes in cannabis. Good chromatographic separation allowed quantification of critical compounds across the volatility range, including α-pinene, β-myrcene, α-humulene, β-caryophyllene, and caryophyllene oxide.
A Fast, Simple FET Headspace GC-FID Technique for Determining Residual Solvents in Cannabis Concentrates
Due to rapid growth in the medical cannabis industry, demand is increasing for analysis of residual solvents in cannabis concentrates in order to protect consumer safety. This application note details a simple, fast test for common residual solvents using full evaporation technique headspace GC-FID and an Rxi®-624Sil MS column.
Optimized Volatiles Analysis Ensures Fast VOC Separations
In this application note, in order to provide optimized conditions for labs analyzing VOCs, parameters that ensure good resolution, while reducing downtime by syncing purge and trap cycles with instrument cycles were established. In addition, comparative data is presented that demonstrates why Rxi®-624Sil MS columns are the best choice for volatiles analysis.
Lowering Detection Limits for 1,4-Dioxane in Drinking Water Using Large Volume Injection in an Unmodified Splitless GC Inlet
This application note describes a method for the analysis of 1,4-dioxane in drinking water using an unmodified split/splitless inlet with concurrent solvent recondensation–large volume splitless injection (CSR-LVSI) to lower reporting limits without concentrating the extract. SPE is performed using Resprep® SPE cartridge from Restek for EPA method 522 then analysis by GC-MS. This CSR-LVSI technique improves detectability with no specialized equipment or changes to standard laboratory instrumentation.
What makes an aroma? A terpene story
Terpenes have become a topic of great interest in cannabis testing as scientists are trying to develop a deeper understanding of the roles they play in cannabis. They impact aromas and flavors, but there are growing beliefs that they may also enhance or suppress therapeutic benefits through what is called the “entourage effect.” Watch this video to learn more about terpenes and the analytical techniques such as gas chromatography used for analysis.
Rxi® Technology for Accurate Trace-Level Analysis and New EZGC™ Software from Restek
In this video Jaap de Zeeuw discusses two new technologies highlighted by Restek at Pittcon 2013. Jaap tells SelectScience how the exceptional inertness and stability of Restek’s Rxi® columns makes them well suited to accurate trace-level analyses.
