Thermo Scientific rDNase I is produced through a process that contains no animal by-products. The enzyme is provided free from any detectable RNase activity or animal derivatives. rDNase I has a molecular weight of approximately 30kDa. As an endodeoxyribonuclease, DNase I hydrolyses phosphodiester linkages yielding di-, tri-, and oligonucleotides with a 5' phosphate and a free 3' hydroxyl. DNase I has been shown to act on single- and double- stranded DNA, chromatin, and RNA:DNA hybrids. rDNase I can be inactivated by a 10-minute incubation at 75°C.
