hCLAT measures the activation of dendritic cells which is a key event in dermal sensitization The test is described in OECD test guideline 442E as an alternative method to assess the skin sensitizing potential of chemicals.
The kit is built on Assay Ready THP-1 Cells which can be used instantly for the test without pre-cultivation. Briefly, the cells are thawed, seeded into the assay plates and challenged with the potential skin sensitizers. Cell activation is determined by the expression of cell surface markers CD54 and CD86.
Beneath the Assay Ready THP-1 Cells the kit further includes assay medium, reference substances, validated detection antibodies and assay plates to perform one dose-finding assay and three replica of skin sensitization according to the OECD protocol.
