Purification of small molecules
The Torrent has a greater flow rate capacity than any of its competitors meaning purifications can be performed in less time. Precise pump performance means that column performance over the full range of column sizes is always consistent - methods developed using an 80 g column will be equivalent to the largest columns. The maximum available column size (7 Kg) is also greater than what is available from the competition. This, together with the availability of spherical silica gel ("gold" columns) allows greater loading than regular ("silver") RediSep columns. The combination of the large column size and greater loading for spherical silica gel allows processes to be scaled up, increasing efficiencies and decreasing cost. The service team has been willing to tailor their PM contract to our specific needs. The instrument is very robust and dependable.

Good equipment and support
Product Purification with normal phase
Customer support has been good so far. Consumables are no problem and we get a rather quick response for feedback on issues. We don't use the instrument that often so that may impact the score for ease of use. Also, changing spare parts inside the unit is quite tricky and the parts for that are always on back order

Resolution Of Normal Phase Flash Chromatography Improved by Dry Samples
This application note demonstrates that preparing dry samples using RediSep® solid load sample cartridges improves peak resolution over liquid injection techniques. When the compound and reaction by-products are over-diluted or dissolved in too polar a dissolving solvent, the compound peak broadens which leads to loss of resolution. The effects of band broadening and overlapping peaks were gauged using dual UV detection/monitoring.
Separation of Lipids by Normal Phase Flash Chromatography
Lipid mixtures can be difficult to separate and frequently require multiple procedures to achieve a high purity. This application note demonstrates how this difficult procedure can be performed easily and efficiently with an Isco Normal Phase RediSep® column and CombiFlash® chromatography system. For this study, a mixture was prepared containing non-polar lipids, glycolipids, and phospholipids.
Peptide Separations Using Reverse Phase RediSep® Columns
This application note describes a generalized approach to separating peptide mixtures into fractions on reusable reversed phase RediSep® C18 columns from Teledyne Isco. Peptide mixtures may be separated into individual peptide species. If the separate and more specific peptides can be contained in a single fraction, this can greatly expedite many scientific processes.
