Multiresidue LC-MS/MS Screening of Veterinary Drugs in Milk Using the Ostro Pass-through Sample Preparation Plate
This application note describes the use of the Ostro Plate for multi-residue screening for veterinary drugs in milk. Using this plate, milk samples are prepared using a few simple steps to effectively precipitate protein and remove potential interferences.
Improving the Cleanliness of DBS Extracts Using the Ostro Pass-through 96-Well Sample Preparation Plate and Single Step Method
DBS analysis can generate high analyte recoveries. However, this technique does little to eliminate endogenous interferences. Interferences, in particular residual phospholipids (PLs), are a major source of concern in bioanalysis. This application note demonstrates that the Ostro™ Pass-through 96-well Sample Preparation Plate can be used to eliminate greater 99.9% of all residual PLs.
Direct Analysis of Opioids and Metabolites from Whole Blood Using Ostro Sample Preparation Plates Combined with UPLC-MS/MS for Forensic Toxicology
The analysis of natural and synthetic opioid drugs continues to be an important aspect of forensic toxicology. Many sample preparation strategies have been used for whole blood analysis; one of the simplest involves cell lysis followed by protein precipitation. The method presented in this study describes a rapid and straightforward sample preparation strategy using Ostro Sample Preparation Plates whereby whole blood samples can be pre-treated to lyse the cells, precipitated with acetonitrile, and eluted using a simple 96-well format.
Advantages of Ostro Pass-through Sample Preparation Versus Solid Supported Liquid Extraction
In this application note, a comparison is performed between Ostro Pass-through Sample Preparation and SSLE. Typical samples used in drug discovery and development with different acidic, basic and neutral properties and hydrophobicities were analyzed in this evaluation. Key areas of comparison are procedure simplicity, analyte recoveries, matrix factor, and batch-to-batch reproducibility.
Improving the Cleanliness of DBS Extracts using the Ostro 96-well Sample Preparation Plate and Single Step Method
In this work, whole blood samples containing risperidone, its hydroxylated metabolite, 9-OH risperidone, and the internal standard, clozapine were extracted in both the traditional manner and in-well using a 96-well Ostro sample preparation plate.

In this application note, a comparison is performed between Ostro Pass-through Sample Preparation and SSLE. Typical samples used in drug discovery and development with different acidic, basic and neutral properties and hydrophobicities were analyzed in this evaluation. Key areas of comparison are procedure simplicity, analyte recoveries, matrix factor (MF), and batch-to-batch reproducibility.
