NC200, very good device and service support
Cell viability and count
We use the NC200 device for the viability and cell count because it's a device with a very good correlation with microscopy for primary cells (like CD34+ cells, T lymphocytes) but also for cell lines. At this moment, we work with new cells which have some big aggregates and we have discussed with French Chemometec people who have provided some possibilities to improve our results of viability and cell count.

We use the NucleCounter NC-200 on a regular basis for counting various cell types (adherant or suspension cells lines, primary cells) both for R&D and bioproduction activities. This counter is easy to use and offers a very good reproducibility and reliability.

Reliability and reproducibility of the measurement with NC200
HEK293 cells counting
We regularly use the NC200 for counting HEK293 and CHO cells. It's simple and fast to use with cassettes and Chemometec software. The results are reliable and reproducible (measurement performed in triplicate) for monitoring cell growth during cultures in flasks and bioreactors.

Samples containing cells are loaded using the Via1-Cassette™ which includes an in-built pipette and immobilized fluorescent dyes to stain the total and dead cell populations. With the Via1-Cassette™, all errors introduced during pipetting and staining are avoided. Also the Via1-Cassette™ is volume calibrated ensuring a high precision in determining cell count and viability. Analyzing one sample takes less than 50 seconds. The NucleoCounter® NC-200™ is designed to be easily implemented in GMP and 21 CFR part 11 compliant laboratories. The in-built protocols for IQ/OQ/PQ ensure control of consistent operation.
