- PEAQ-Compare: For the quantitative comparison of DSC traces for comparability studies, ideal for batch-to-batch and biosimilarity studies
- Network-ready: email updates sent during the analysis to keep you informed of assay progress
Differential scanning calorimetry: Your guide to analyzing proteins for vaccine stability
In this application note, Malvern Panalytical describes how differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) can help to optimize your process and speed up the selection of vaccine candidates.
Biomolecular stability analysis for the regulated environment
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a powerful analytical technique which characterizes the thermal stability of proteins and other biomolecules. In solution, these molecules often undergo thermally-induced conformational changes, such as the breaking of non-covalent bonds leading to the unfolding of a protein. The information delivered by DSC is ‘gold standard’, label-free stability data which can be used for a variety of purposes.
Biophysical Application of Calorimetric Methods to Protein Misfolding And Aggregation Examinations
Unfolded proteins fold into thermodynamically-favorable native structures under the correct physiological conditions for gain of function. This whitepaper describes how differential scanning calorimetry and isothermal titration calorimetry can be used as a powerful method for the thermodynamic investigation of interactions between diverse biomolecules and inorganic compounds. It details some examples from literature of the methods application in studying amyloid fibrillation.
The New MicroCal PEAQ-DSC Automated System
Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is an established biophysical tool for protein stability characterization during biopharmaceutical drug development. The MicroCal VP-Capillary DSC system is an automated DSC system that performs TM screening and evaluates protein stability for a wide range of biopharmaceutical applications. This white paper discusses the new and improved features of the MicroCal VP-Capillary DSC system, including PEAQ-Compliance, PEAQ-Smart, PEAQ-Finder, PEAQ-Performance and PEAQ-Compare, which make DSC even easier to use, and produce reliable, reproducible DSC data.
