Microbiological and Pyrogen Tested (MPT)

Microbiologically and pyrogen tested (MPT) grade materials have additional manufacturing processes and testing added to the standard CIL products. These products include additional testing for total aerobic microbial count, total combined yeast and mold, endotoxins, and specific micro-organisms on the bulk material. Since the testing is done on bulk material, CIL recommends that the product be tested prior to use. MPT-grade materials are not considered sterile or pyrogen-free.
