Application Area:

ELISA, Quantification of fluorescent substances

The product is highly useful in an affordable package. We use it for multiple purposes including UV, ELISA, and fluorescence applications. Though after sale service is not too good, it is adequate. I think this instrument needs very less maintenance than any other available in the market at the same price range. After all, we are satisfied with its performance. Now, this is an essential piece of equipment in all our laboratory works.

Software is intuitive and setting up complex protocols is easy

Application Area:

Cell based fluorescence and luminescence assays

We recently demoed the M200 pro and based on the performance decided to buy this (ex-demo) machine. Here is a summary of what we have seen so far. The good: -Readings are as reliable as the other machines we have in lab. - Surprisingly our calcium signaling studies were a lot less noisy in the M200 compared to our filter based machines which are supposed to be superior. -Service contract is very attractive compared to other popular manufacturers (important for us, as we run these machine day in, day out). -Software is intuitive and setting up complex protocols is easy -The rep was knowledgeable and if didn't know something promptly contacted the tech team and got back. Additionally gave us a great discount. The bad: - Magellan (purchased separately), which is a data reduction software in addition to iControl (provided free) can be installed only in 2 computers. -Injector is not usable with anything less than 10 ul (TBH this seems to be a trend with others as well).

Detection of Human Immunoglobulin G (IgG) Using the Infinite F200 PRO’s New AlphaLISA Function

AlphaLISA is a homogeneous, no-wash alternative to conventional ELISAs based on PerkinElmer’s bead-based Alpha (Amplified Luminescent Proximity Homogeneous Assay) technology. AlphaLISA assays can be set up as sandwich or competitive immunoassays to detect and quantify molecules of interest in biological samples. AlphaLISA assays are less prone to signal interference at wavelengths of <600 nm and the use of dedicated AlphaLISA optics permits the analysis of target molecules in blood and serum by drastically reducing the effect of hemoglobin within a sample. This application note describes the implementation of the AlphaLISA technology onto the Infinite F200 PRO, and describes the use of the reader for the detection of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) using PerkinElmer’s AlphaLISA Human IgG Assay Kit.

Automated Growth Monitoring of Microaerophilic Organisms in the Infinite® 200 PRO Reader with Gas Control Module

Growth analysis of micro-organisms is a fundamental part of many research areas yet can be highly time consuming and labor-intensive. Tecan have designed the Gas Control Module in conjunction with the Infinite 200 Pro Reader which allows walk-away growth monitoring through the controlled measurement chamber which provides all essential growth conditions, eliminating the need for transfer between incubators and readers and manual intervention. This application note describes the use of these systems in the analysis of growth of the human pathogen and class-I carcinogen, Helicobacter pylori, over a 28 hour period.

Using Dedicated Detectors for Luminescent Signals; Photon-Counting Tube-based Infinite® M200 PRO with Photomultiplier Tube-based Multimode Readers

The Infinite 200 PRO is a user-friendly and affordable multimode reader, designed to cater for the needs of today’s applications. Providing a full range of leading detection methods in one easy-to-use modular instrument, multimode microplate readers (MMRs) are commonly equipped with photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) which are extremely sensitive detectors of light in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum. This application note compares luminescence measurements using the Infinite M200 PRO with Photomultiplier Tube-based multimode readers.

ORAC Assay for the Determination of Antioxidant Capacity in Foods using the Infinite® 200 PRO Multimode Reader

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are generated as natural by-products of the cellular metabolism. They are involved in various biological processes, functioning as important signal mediators. However, excess intracellular levels of ROS may result in cell and tissue damage, and are associated with degenerative diseases, most notably cancer. A well-established and reliable method to determine the antioxidant capacity of a substance is the oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay. This application note describes the use of the Infinite® F200 PRO in combination with a commercially available ORAC assay kit, using different beverages as antioxidant samples.

Long-term Cell-based Kinetics using Tecan’s GCM™ and the Thermo Scientific Nunc Edge Plate

This application note describes the capability of Tecan’s Infinite® 200 PRO multimode reader to regulate the CO2 partial pressure inside its measurement chamber. The investigation of biological processes requires time-dependent analysis of cellular signals, from several hours up to several days. However, long-term studies with living eukaryotic cells can only be performed for a limited time inside common microplate readers.

Extractables do not Affect Downstream Vitamin D Analysis by LC-MS/MS when Using the Tecan AC Extraction Plate™

Quantification of small molecules in biological samples (such as serum, plasma, urine or blood) by LC-MS is generally only performed after a sample clean-up step. This is due to the presence of specific matrix constituents – such as proteins and phospholipids – which might negatively affect the analysis. The Tecan AC Extraction Plate simplifies sample preparation by efficiently removing most matrix components – such as proteins and salts – without any precipitation, filtration, centrifugation and evaporation steps.
