Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Food, Coffee, Cocoa

I have had the opportunity to use different types and brands of scales in my laboratory, but this brand is the best. The results are satisfactory, and the reproducibility and repeatability of my tests are very good thanks to this equipment.

Review Date: 3 Sept 2025 | Sartorius Group

Excellent microbalance with some software updates required.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Gravimetric analysis

Excellent microbalance, 5 stars. Results are consistent, repeatable and accurate when compared to NIST certified weight sets. However the software is a bit clunky and seemingly inconsistent sometimes, thus the drop to 4 stars. This does not effect results, just a little user frustration on some of the automated door opening and physical button operations. Excellent interfacing with pc's. We use the old RS232 due to downstream software requirements (Microsoft has dynamic USB addressing that is not compatible), whereas the competitor requires a special proprietary dongle that costs significantly extra to achieve the same goal. Due to our location, the service tech is often difficult to get a hold of, schedule visits or get remote assistance despite a maintenance contract, though the contract is reasonably priced (compared to competitor), so maybe that explains it? Thankfully we rarely need to contact them. Either way, it supports the 4 star despite the 5 star ability.

Review Date: 3 Sept 2025 | Sartorius Group

Scale is simple to use and very repeatable. It switches to density mode very easily and the density kit is simple to switch to and use.

Review Date: 3 Sept 2025 | Sartorius Group

Excellent product.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Metrology, Calibration, Research (Oceanography)

Compact, very versatile, flexible, relatively easy to handle, with strong support (online documentation, application notes/webinars and other technical resources).

Cubis II Ultra-High Resolution Balances: From data sheet to reality

In this application note, explore the Cubis® II Ultra-High Resolution Balances from Sartorius, which are precise analytical instruments used to weigh very small quantities of samples with high precision. The performance in a lab environment often deviates from instrument specifications due to varying environmental conditions and influences deriving from samples and users. The higher the resolution, the greater the relative measurement uncertainty is. These devices are particularly sensitive to imperfect laboratory conditions.

Best cleaning practices for Cubis ll Ultra-High Resolution Balances

The cleaning of a laboratory instrument could be part of your daily routine or even part of your validation process or your SOPs. When it comes to laboratory balances, the higher the resolution of the balance, the greater is the risk of compromised weighing accuracy due to contamination from small amounts of leftover residues. This can directly impact the outcome of your weighing results and the quality of your samples. In this application note from Sartorius Group, explore how recent developments tackle problems in the new generation of Cubis® II Ultra-High Resolution Balances.
