A FASTer and Cleaner Alternative to ‘Dilute and Shoot’

12 Jan 2015

The increased volume in recent years of confirmatory tests in urine toxicology by LC/MS/MS has led to alternatives to traditional sample preparation techniques. The usual liquid/liquid or solid phase extraction with concentration has given way to ‘dilute and shoot’ of urine samples. This poster shows how the FASt method addresses shortcomings of this method by applying a lowered urine sample dilution (as low as 1:1) to the specially designed cartridge.

Clean Screen® FASt Columns

UCT, Inc.

The Clean Screen® FASt column is a novel approach to improved sample preparation for LC/MS analysis. The column employs a one step process to prepare urine samples for analysis of multiple drugs and metabolites. By quickly and efficiently reducing the amount of unwanted matrix and particulates in the final sample, the analysis can proceed with less chance of matrix suppression and LC column clogging.

Clean Screen® FASt THC

UCT, Inc.

CLEAN SCREEN FASt THC is the newest sorbent in our FASt product lineup. It employs a process that uses positive pressure and a solid phase sorbent bed built with small pore frits to quickly and efficiently prepare urine samples for LC/MS analysis. This method eliminates timely centrifugation, reduces matrix suppression effects, and removes particulates greater than ~1μm. Samples can be diluted at a ratio as low as 1:1, which is useful for analytes at very low concentrations.

Clean Screen® FASt Well Plate

UCT, Inc.

The FASt Well Plate is a novel approach to improved sample preparation for LC/MS analysis. The well plate employs a one step process to prepare urine samples for analysis of multiple drugs and metabolites. By quickly and efficiently reducing the amount of unwanted matrix and particulates in the final sample, the analysis can proceed with less chance of matrix suppression and LC column clogging.
