" We purchased two and have gone through a total of 6 units in 4 years. The first 4 were covered by the warranty, the last 2 not. For the 301 turbo pump they don't install a scroll backing pump that gets low enough for this turbo and in fact they don't recommend this backing pump in the purchase of the turbo alone."

Manufacturer's ResponseThe TPS Compact has seen several significant technical changes in the last 15 months, including redesign of the control electronics. The most notable improvement, however, is the implementation of the TwisTorr 304 FS turbo pump which replaced the V-301 turbo. In our Catalog we do list the SH-110 Scroll Pump, rather than the IDP-3, as the recommended backing pump for the 304 turbo, but that is a general recommendation intended to address any application. For those applications in which the TPS Compact is used, the IDP-3 Scroll Pump is more than adequate to back the 304 turbo.
