An integral part of our eDNA survey assay.
Rating: 4.7

  • Application Area: Remove inhibitors from eDNA samples

"The Zymo PCR inhibitor kit has provided itself an extremely useful tool to our lab. It has allowed for successful PCR amplification when the sample was previously inhibited. This has given us better results for our eDNA samples for qPCR, where they might previously been unusable. The kit comes in either a spin column or 96 plate format, both of which are easy to use and time efficient. Zymo Research has also answered any questions I've had regarding the kit in a rapid and easy to understand way. We will continue to use this great product as we are extremely happy with its results."

PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit makes the impossible possible.
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Clean up of environmental DNA extractions

"My lab has been using the Zymo PCR Inhibitor Removal kit for years now, and I'm always impressed with its ability to transform the most difficult samples (those that are high in tannins and other inhibitors) to ultimately allow us to detect rare, threatened, and endangered species from them. Fast, cheap, and user friendly, the PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit has been an outstanding product for us!"

This is truly something that is affordable and offers repeatable results!
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Purifying plant genomic DNA for downstream PCR.

"I'm very impressed! Some gDNA samples that I had extracted via CTAB method yielded cloudy, brown DNA solutions. These would not amplify any DNA via PCR. However, after passing the cloudy, brown DNA solutions through the Zymo OneStep PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit, the eluted samples were clear and I was able to amplify my genetic regions via PCR. Thank you so very much for this wonderful kit! It's extremely easy to use and very worth the cost for the kit."

Great product for tricky eDNA samples!
Rating: 4.7

  • Application Area:Removal of humic acid from eDNA samples.

"This is by far the quickest, easiest way to remove inhibitory substances from eDNA samples. It is as simple as one spin and does not result in the loss of my eDNA. I can clean up all of my samples quickly and turn around and use them in a qPCR reaction. It's a wonderful product."

Review date: 26 Jul 2016 | OneStep™ PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit

The OneStep™ PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit contains all the components needed for efficient removal of contaminants that can inhibit downstream enzymatic reactions (e.g. PCR and RT) from DNA and RNA preparations. The column matrices have been specifically designed for the efficient removal of polyphenolic compounds, humic/fulvic acids, tannins, melanin, etc. from the most impure DNA and RNA preparations. Sample clean-up is as simple as applying, spinning, and recovering a sample from the column.
