Unfortunately, it is the only choice in acoustic dispensing
Application Area: Compound Management
"I have 4 of the new Echo 655T units that work with the new AcoustiX Tubes from FluidX/Azenta. The purchase process was difficult. At one point they split an order for 2 Echo and were planning to deliver them months apart due to supply chain issues. Aside from the difficulties actually getting the units in. I have had issues with the plate dyers not working and leaving droplets of water all over downstream instrumentation in my workcells. The service is extremely poor. All of the former Labcyte expertise has left the company, and they are struggling to find and train competent field engineers. This has resulted in service requests that require 6+ visits and were still unable to be resolved. Lastly, Beckman has jacked up the pricing for service and software for Echo instrumentation. Now when you spend $500k on an instrument, it come with no software to run it. It is effectively a paperweight until they nickel and dime you for another $30-40k for the software to run it. Unfortunately, Beckman has cornered the market on acoustic dispensing technologies, and they know it. There are no other choices now because they bought EDC and shut them down."

I am very happy we are an Echo-focused group and we plan to stay that way!
Application Area:Sample addition to in vitro assays
"Echo has been enabling during the pandemic traditional liquid handler tip shortage. While many of our colleagues have not been able to continue their work, we have not had any issues because we use Echos - no tips! This is an added bonus to the already enabling environment of contactless dispensing."

The best way to dispense samples
Application Area:Liquid handling
"There is no better product that will acoustically dispense sample in a non-contact manner. It is a core part of all of our screening campaigns."

We love the Echo and it is an indispensable part of our early discovery work.
Application Area:Drug discovery HTS
"Enables nanoliter dispensing. Easy to use. increases quality of our work and increases efficiency of workflow. Is compound sparing so we can extend the life of our compound collections. Is reliable and reproducible!"
Echo 650 Series Acoustic Liquid Handlers are ideal for medium-throughput applications. They enable the transfer of as little as 2.5 nL from 384-well and 1536-well microplates. As your research needs change, upgrade packages are available that enable the addition of Echo Qualified sample tube capabilities.
Key benefits:
Acoustic Sample Tube Management
The FluidX AcoustiX Sample Tube (FAST) was developed in collaboration with and is sold by Brooks Life Sciences for ultra-high-density sample storage. The acoustic tube offers the following benefits:
Workflow Automation
To meet the broad spectrum of sample throughput needs, Echo 650 Series Liquid Handlers seamlessly integrate with the highly configurable Access™ Dual Robot System accommodating a wide variety of devices and enabling a fully automated workflow.
The New Sound of Sample Management
The Echo 655T Liquid Handler supports sample transfer directly from Echo Qualified sample tubes, enabling a fully non-contact liquid handling workflow from sample storage all the way to assay ready plates. The Echo 655T Liquid Handler is capable of transferring as little as 2.5 nL from 384-well and 1536-well microplates, and now, from sample tubes arrayed in a 96-tube format. Additionally, it transfers at the highest speed to meet the needs of high-thoughput biochemical and cell-based screening.
