Great columns, fantastic reproducability and long lifetime

Average Rating 4.7

Application Area:

Size characterisation of proteins

We use the BEH columns for all our SEC runs. They are UPLC compliant and take around 6 minutes a run. This means they work fantastically well for high throughput screening and at least for our application they last much longer than other columns - we get >1000 runs per column. The only complaint is that they are expensive, but you get what you pay for and the speed alone means we only need to run one UPLC for 5 x the samples on a HPLC.

The ACQUITY UPLC BEH SEC Columns are specifically designed and QC tested with BEH protein standards, ensuring unmatched batch-to-batch consistency for increased confidence in validated methods.

The SEC-based offerings are ideally suited for the accurate determination of low levels of protein aggregates contained in therapeutic monoclonal antibodies up to 10X faster than traditional HPLC-based SEC.

Multi-Dimensional Chromatography Compendium: Loop vs. Trap Injection

This white note compendium by Waters explores multi-dimensional chromatography, focusing on the differences between loop and trap injection. When new technology is introduced, new options and combinations of analysis become available, often enhancing complex analyses. This white paper explains the differences between the two methods and how resolution can be optimized for analyses.

Effect of Accurate Mass MS Data Acquisition Rate of Data Quality in Metabolic Phenotypic Studies

Metabolic phenotyping of clinical or animal studies for biomedical research relies on the generation of high quality, information rich data from which meaningful biological data can be derived. The following application note describes how the Waters Xevo G2 XS Mass Spectrometer is ideally suited to this task, employing very fast data acquisition rates without losing mass resolution and thus allowing for the retention of the fine chromatographic detail.

Highly Sensitive Analysis of Polar Pesticides in Food Matrices on the Xevo TQ-XS

This application note describes a sensitive LC-MS/MS quantification method for the robust analysis of highly polar pesticides in food commodities without the need of derivatization. Using the ACQUITY UPLC System coupled to the Xevo TQ-XS Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, they achieved sub-parts per billion detection (ppb) limits for glyphosate, glufosinate and aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA). The sensitivity of the Xevo TQ-XS promises excellent limits of detection, suitable for monitoring maximum residue limit (MRL) compliance for these challenging analytes and good quantitative performance, in terms of precision and calibration characteristics in compliance with SANTE 11954/2015 guidelines.
