Clear consistent results, use it often and very happy with it.

Application Area:

Used to analyze RNA samples to prepare for sequencing library preparation.

Very easy to use, instructions are well written, don't require much prep time and can be completed easily. Only hiccup so far is the software can be directed to not allow expired reagents/tape, which can be disconcerting if not aware of the change. Our reagents/tape is expired but we have achieved good results regardless.

RNA ScreenTape analysis provides efficient and reliable electrophoretic separation of total RNA down to 5 ng/µl. Compatible with eukaryotic and prokaryotic samples, the assay provides accurate information about sample integrity and quantity. Objective evaluation of RNA degradation is delivered with an RNA Integrity Number (RINe) that can be used for sample quality control in NGS workflows.

The assay is compatible with all Agilent TapeStation instruments.

Note: Some products within this assay contain SYBR™ Gold, which is licensed from Life Technologies Corporation for use in research and development only. SYBR™ is a registered trademark of Life Technologies Corporation.

Features:

  • Utilizes RINe – a user independent algorithm for accurate and objective assessment of eukaryotic or prokaryotic total RNA integrity.
  • Provides fast results with data delivered in approximately 1 minute per sample.
  • Minimal sample consumption is required as only 1 µL of sample is needed for accurate data.
  • RNA sample detection down to 5 ng/µL is possible.
  • Objective quality control of precious RNA samples is enabled within RNAseq, microarray analysis, and quantitative RT-PCR workflows.
  • Ready-to-use consumables provide excellent reproducibility.
  • No cross contamination and sample carryover by using single lanes and individual loading tips.
  • Partially used ScreenTape devices can be used for completion at a later point in time.

Quality matters: Tackling high molecular weight DNA contamination in cell-free DNA for optimal liquid biopsy NGS

Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 16:00 BST / 17:00 CEST / 11:00 EDT / 08:00 PDT

Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) has become an essential tool in clinical research and serves as valuable biomarker in liquid biopsy applications. However, cfDNA presents a challenge for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows due to its low yield, complex fragmentation pattern and potential presence of contaminating high molecular weight (HMW) DNA.

In this webinar, our expert speaker will discuss reliable pre-analytical quality control using the Agilent Cell-free DNA ScreenTape assay and the TapeStation systems, emphasizing their relevance to NGS-based liquid biopsy applications.

Key learning objectives

  • Understand the challenges associated with cfDNA extraction and HMW DNA contamination.
  • Learn about the impact of HMW DNA on cfDNA quality and NGS results.
  • Explore how to ensure pre-analytical quality control of cfDNA samples.
  • Discover the unique benefits of the Agilent Cell-free DNA ScreenTape assay for obtaining the full picture of your cfDNA quality.

Who should attend?

NGS and genomics researchers, molecular biologists, researchers in cancer diagnostics and liquid biopsy, and sequencing lab managers and technicians
