The Qpress 40 is QATM's latest hot mounting press, developed for precision, efficiency, and user-friendliness. Its speed-optimized heating and cooling technology — via optimized heat transfer between heating elements and mould, fast temperature control, and a preheating function — can reduce mounting time by up to 35%, saving both time and energy. The heating elements quickly melt the mounting resin while granules are compressed to the preset mould pressure; after a short holding time, the mould cools rapidly so the hardened sample can be removed for further preparation.
A robust, ergonomic bayonet quick-release closure allows quick opening and closing of the press cylinder, and a tall press cylinder enables double mounting (two samples stacked simultaneously) to double sample throughput. The patented optional Dust Guard extraction system protects operators from resin dust during filling. Software is available in two variants: standard ""Go"" software for quick setup, and advanced ""PLUS"" software with butler (one-button) function, a method database with pre-installed recipes and storage for over 128 user-defined methods, automatic dust-extraction control, and a 2-step mode for sensitive samples.
