Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a technique used to measure the temperature and heat flow associated with thermal transitions in materials. The optical DSC450 system has been optimized for those wishing to measure the transition temperatures and enthalpy changes of their samples. The design allows mounting of the stage on a microscope, enabling image and time-lapse recording of sample transitions at high resolution.
The optical DSC450 allows the user to measure thermal and glass transitions of a wide range of substances whilst accurately controlling temperature from -150°C to 450°C. The stage has gas ports to allow purging of the stage to minimize oxidation of the sample.
The system is provided with a T96 controller, LINK software and optional Digital Imaging and Thermal Analysis by Structural Characterisation (TASC) modules. For below ambient temperatures, the optional LNP96 cooling pump is available.
The optical feature of the DSC system allows both data and image sampling throughout the experiment.
