One of the best spectrophotometers I've ever used!
Measurement of absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence
We routinely use the spectrophotometer for quantification of RNA/DNA, analysis of cell cytotoxicity, measurement of ELISA and all the applications that need absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence. It supports plates from 6- to 384-well. The software is user-friendly and easy to use. It is possible to create many protocols, with optimization of all parameters. The results can easily be exported.

Reliable and heavy duty
Biology, cell culture, DNA quantification
The plate reader is reliable and heavy duty, easy to use and the basic software is very easy. Magellan advanced software is quite complicated but rarely needed for normal applications in research like cell toxicity. It has plate accessory for DNA quantification that enables simultaneous quantification of 10 samples of as low as 5 ul. It can be upgraded to include fluorescence and luminescence but it is quite expensive. After sale support is very good. Many application notes are available in the website.

Nucleic Acid quantification
The Infinite 200 plate reader is a robust machine. The possibility to measure 16 samples at once speeds up daily work a lot. Problems with the wave length accuracy we had in the beginning were solved quickly, communication with the customer service was fast and good. The control software is straight forward and self explaining, operations can be selected via drag and drop to build up individual programs.

Protein quantification in small-volume samples
This application note from Tecan describes the implementation of the NanoQuant Plate for protein measurements with regard to essential assay parameters such as linearity, uniformity, and reproducibility.
Detection of Human Immunoglobulin G (IgG) Using the Infinite F200 PRO’s New AlphaLISA Function
AlphaLISA is a homogeneous, no-wash alternative to conventional ELISAs based on PerkinElmer’s bead-based Alpha (Amplified Luminescent Proximity Homogeneous Assay) technology. AlphaLISA assays can be set up as sandwich or competitive immunoassays to detect and quantify molecules of interest in biological samples. AlphaLISA assays are less prone to signal interference at wavelengths of <600 nm and the use of dedicated AlphaLISA optics permits the analysis of target molecules in blood and serum by drastically reducing the effect of hemoglobin within a sample. This application note describes the implementation of the AlphaLISA technology onto the Infinite F200 PRO, and describes the use of the reader for the detection of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) using PerkinElmer’s AlphaLISA Human IgG Assay Kit.
Tecan’s Infinite® F200 PRO with AlphaScreen® Module
Tecan developed an AlphaScreen® module for its popular Infinite® F200 PRO multimode reader which can provide customers with a cost-effective solution for AlphaScreen and AlphaLISA® assays. This application note describes the successful implementation of the Alpha technology onto the Infinite F200 PRO and summarizes the performance of the instrument with regard to measurement sensitivity, uniformity and typical reading times.
Automated Growth Monitoring of Microaerophilic Organisms in the Infinite® 200 PRO Reader with Gas Control Module
Growth analysis of micro-organisms is a fundamental part of many research areas yet can be highly time consuming and labor-intensive. Tecan have designed the Gas Control Module in conjunction with the Infinite 200 Pro Reader which allows walk-away growth monitoring through the controlled measurement chamber which provides all essential growth conditions, eliminating the need for transfer between incubators and readers and manual intervention. This application note describes the use of these systems in the analysis of growth of the human pathogen and class-I carcinogen, Helicobacter pylori, over a 28 hour period.
Using Dedicated Detectors for Luminescent Signals; Photon-Counting Tube-based Infinite® M200 PRO with Photomultiplier Tube-based Multimode Readers
The Infinite 200 PRO is a user-friendly and affordable multimode reader, designed to cater for the needs of today’s applications. Providing a full range of leading detection methods in one easy-to-use modular instrument, multimode microplate readers (MMRs) are commonly equipped with photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) which are extremely sensitive detectors of light in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum. This application note compares luminescence measurements using the Infinite M200 PRO with Photomultiplier Tube-based multimode readers.
UV-Vis Spectrophotometry: Comparing Absorbance Measurements Between the Quad4 Monochromators-based Infinite® M200 PRO and a Multimode Reader using Photodiode Array Technology
The most widely established technology for UV-Vis absorbance measurement is a monochromator-based microplate reader. Tecan’s Infinite M200 PRO is a user-friendly and affordable multimode reader, designed to cater for the needs of today’s applications, providing a full range of leading detection methods in one easy-to-use modular instrument with Quad4 monochromator™. This application note compares the Infinite M200 PRO with a multimode reader using photodiode array technology on their dynamic measurement range, OD linearity in the visible and the UV range and measurement reproducibility.
Improved Cell Viability Assay Performance using PrestoBlue® Cell Viability Reagent alongside Infinite M200 PRO and Infinite M1000 PRO Multimode Microplate Readers
Assessment of cellular viability markers in cell-based applications is mandatory for laboratories working with in vitro systems. Life Technologies offers an enhanced version of the commonly available resazurin-based assays, the PrestoBlue® Cell Viability Reagent. ORAC Assay for the Determination of Antioxidant Capacity in Foods using the Infinite® 200 PRO Multimode Reader
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are generated as natural by-products of the cellular metabolism. They are involved in various biological processes, functioning as important signal mediators. However, excess intracellular levels of ROS may result in cell and tissue damage, and are associated with degenerative diseases, most notably cancer. A well-established and reliable method to determine the antioxidant capacity of a substance is the oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay. This application note describes the use of the Infinite® F200 PRO in combination with a commercially available ORAC assay kit, using different beverages as antioxidant samples.
Long-term Cell-based Kinetics using Tecan’s GCM™ and the Thermo Scientific Nunc Edge Plate
This application note describes the capability of Tecan’s Infinite® 200 PRO multimode reader to regulate the CO2 partial pressure inside its measurement chamber. The investigation of biological processes requires time-dependent analysis of cellular signals, from several hours up to several days. However, long-term studies with living eukaryotic cells can only be performed for a limited time inside common microplate readers.
Tweaking Fluorescence Scans: Guidelines to Recording Excitation and Emission Spectra
