High Resolution Ion Exchanger: BioPro IEX
BioPro IEX, YMC's strong ion exchange material are based on a hydrophilic polymer which provides low non-specific adsorption and high recoveries. Porous and non-porous polymer beads are available for high loadability and throughput.
With the BioPro IEX series, YMC provides a range of strong ion exchange materials based on a hydrophilic polymer in two variants: porous and non-porous.
YMC’s BioPro IEX series of ion exchange columns are available in QA (SAX) and SP (SCX) chemistries, based on 5 µm porous or on 3 and 5 µm non-porous hydrophilic polymer beads. Due to low non-specific absorption, high recoveries can be achieved using the BioPro IEX series. Using porous BioPro IEX columns high sample loadings can be achieved due to the high dynamic binding capacity. When using non-porous BioPro IEX columns high-throughput analyses with extremely high performance are possible, due to the exceptional mechanic stability of the support.
The porous BioPro IEX phases are also available in 10, 20, 30 and 75 µm particle sizes, so that easy scale-up to preparative LC is possible.
BioPro IEX Features:
- High loading by high dynamic binding capacities (DBC)

HPLC Analysis of Oligonucleotides Using YMC’s Non-Porous AEX Columns
In this application note, YMC discusses a method for the determination of oligonucleotides using the BioPro IEX QF. The non-porous BioPro IEX QF promises high efficiency and high resolution at low operating pressures.
BioPro IEX Resins: Resin Downstream Purification
Ion exchange (IEX) media is widely used in the analysis and purification of biomolecules. For instance, in industrial-scale protein production processes, IEX media are often used for initial product capture and intermediate purification stages as well as the final polishing steps. This application note details how the BioPro and BioPro SmartSep can be utilized for biochromatography.
