Application Note: Identifying Endocrine Disruptors Using a Cell Panel-Based Real-Time Assay

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) produce adverse reproductive, neurological, proliferative, and immunological disorders by either mimicking ligands (agonists) or inhibiting ligand binding activity (antagonists). Hence, identifying these compounds in food and environmental contaminations is essential for public health. This application note describes a cell-based assay using the xCELLigence® real-time cell analysis (RTCA) instrument that allows for quantitative, non-invasive, and continuous monitoring of cellular responses to chemicals of interest.
