Nitrite, Bromide and Nitrate Analysis in Artificial Sea Water Applying Direct UV/VIS Detection

7 Nov 2013

Sea water analysis with conductivity detection is difficult due to the high excess of chloride. Especially for analyzing nitrate and bromide, UV/VIS detection is preferred, as chloride does not interfere with nitrate at 218 nm. This application note shows the determination of all three UV-absorbing anions in artificial sea water.
