VACUSIP - Benchtop Aspiration System

VACUSIP – Liquid waste gone in a sip In the laboratory small volumes of liquid need be disposed of on a daily basis. This includes the removal of excess liquids from reaction tubes, aspiration of supernatant after centrifugation steps, removal of washing solutions from microplates and much more. Until today, this is often accomplished by self-made systems. VACUSIP provides an out-of-the-box solution for the wide array of liqui…

Time saver.

Application Area:

Liquid aspiration

Useful little piece of equipment. I mainly use it to aspirate liquid from 96 well plates for proper disposal. Saves time and keeps the liquid contained until ready for disposal.

Love it! We use it in so many situations! Demos, clean rooms, hoods, temp labs, etc.

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Diagnostics R&D

The VACUSIP is the only solution that I love for aspiration in situations where house inline vacuum is not possible. We have used it at demos at major conferences, at customer facilities, in clean rooms, in hoods, in temporary facilities. It is not too expensive as far as lab equipment goes and it is easy and light weight, if you need to you can just grab it and walk it with you to your next experiment station. The suction is comparable to in house vacuum. It is also a great solution if you have in house vacuum but need to squeeze in one more station! I have only good things to stay about this, highly recommend!

Budget alternative to vacuum line, but weaker.

Application Area:

Benchwork

Could be more powerful and attachments are not as easy to use. We were also missing parts of our adaptors that were supposed to come with it.

Great instrument, multi-purpose and cost-effective.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Cell culture and immunoassays

I consider the VACUSIP system to be the best in the market in terms of cost-effectiveness and multi-tasking. The only disadvantage I found was with the after-sales technical service from the distribution company in Mexico. After one year of use, it decreased the suction force, and I’ve not ben able to get technical support to solve the problem.

Great portable vacuum aspirator

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Aspirate samples after kinetic binding assays

Our lab does not have in house vacuum, so we ordered this as an alternative. I love the portability, we have even been able to bring it to conferences and trade shows and run our assay as a live demo.

VACUSIP – Liquid waste gone in a sip

In the laboratory small volumes of liquid need be disposed of on a daily basis. This includes the removal of excess liquids from reaction tubes, aspiration of supernatant after centrifugation steps, removal of washing solutions from microplates and much more. Until today, this is often accomplished by self-made systems.

VACUSIP provides an out-of-the-box solution for the wide array of liquid waste disposal tasks carried out at the laboratory bench. It features a reliable low noise pump, enabling it to operate independently from an external vacuum source. The battery version of VACUSIP contains a rechargeable battery for even more flexibility. A unique hand operator allows a fine regulation of the aspiration flow and accepts a variety of adapters.

The 0.5 l glass bottle is quickly exchanged and all components coming in contact with liquids can be autoclaved. If the inactivation of the liquid waste is carried out externally, a disposable bottle may be used.

Features and benefits:
• Integrated, silent pump makes the VACUSIP location-independent.
• The battery version eliminates cable mess in a laminar flow hood and increases mobility.
• Automated pump shut-off optimizes battery run-time and pump life.
• Quick exchange of waste bottle due to screw cap sealing.
• Hydrophobic filter prevents aerosols and liquid from entering the system.
• Very compact and space saving, HxWxD: 345x120x162 mm only.
• No additional equipment necessary and maintenance free

How To Easily Maintain Your Pipette

Liquid handling specialists, INTEGRA have produced a poster that provides informative guidelines to enable any lab that has access to a microbalance, to perform a quick routine check that offers many of the benefits of an annual pipette calibration. The described protocol checks pipette functionality and provides a solid indication of its actual performance. It is not a substitute for an annual calibration performed by a specialized calibration laboratory but does allow you to assure your pipetting quality throughout the year.

New Benchtop Vacuum Aspiration System

In this SelectScience.tv interview at AACR 2011, INTEGRA introduce three new products; VIAFLO 96, a 96 channel handheld pipette; VIAFILL, a touch screen bulk reagent dispenser; and VACUSIP, a bench top vacuum aspiration system. The VACUSIP enables low volume liquid waste removal. The small footprint system is portable and independent of an external vacuum or electricity source, with an internal vacuum pump and rechargeable battery option. The hand operator enables precise fine regulation of the liquid aspiration flow and a range of adaptors are available for specific applications.
