New Benchtop Vacuum Aspiration System

In this SelectScience.tv interview at AACR 2011, INTEGRA introduce three new products; VIAFLO 96, a 96 channel handheld pipette; VIAFILL, a touch screen bulk reagent dispenser; and VACUSIP, a bench top vacuum aspiration system. The VACUSIP enables low volume liquid waste removal. The small footprint system is portable and independent of an external vacuum or electricity source, with an internal vacuum pump and rechargeable battery option. The hand operator enables precise fine regulation of the liquid aspiration flow and a range of adaptors are available for specific applications.

VIAFLO 96 – Electronic 24 and 96 Channel Handheld Pipette

INTEGRA Biosciences

VIAFLO 96 increases productivity of sample preparation in microplates. It is used like a standard handheld pipette. It is hand-controlled but movements are supported by motors for an effortless workflow and precise targeting of the microplate wells. The working volume range of VIAFLO 96 can be quickly adapted to the application’s requirements by changing the pipetting heads. The 24 channel heads are available in the volume ranges 10-300 µl and 50-1250 µl and the 96 channel heads in the volume ranges 0.5-12.5 µl, 2-50µl, 5–125 µl, 10–300 µl and 50–1250 µl. VIAFLO 96 benefits from the innovative GripTip system. The special pipette tips, together with the unique tip fitting, form an integral system. It guarantees tips will not fall off during pipetting and provides a reliable sealing of every tip. VIAFLO 96 can be used for sample transfers from reservoir to plate, plate to plate or within plates. Features and Benefits:  • VIAFLO 96 is used like a handheld pipette and has an intuitive user interface, freeing staff from training time. • Pipetting heads can be changed for an optimal instrument adaption to different volume ranges, increasing accuracy and precision. • The innovative GripTip system provides a reliable sealing of every tip and guarantees that tips will never fall off, providing safe and reproducible assay preparation. • Various pipetting modes are available for increased productivity and application customization.

VACUSIP - Benchtop Aspiration System

INTEGRA Biosciences

VACUSIP – Liquid waste gone in a sip In the laboratory small volumes of liquid need be disposed of on a daily basis. This includes the removal of excess liquids from reaction tubes, aspiration of supernatant after centrifugation steps, removal of washing solutions from microplates and much more. Until today, this is often accomplished by self-made systems. VACUSIP provides an out-of-the-box solution for the wide array of liquid waste disposal tasks carried out at the laboratory bench. It features a reliable low noise pump, enabling it to operate independently from an external vacuum source. The battery version of VACUSIP contains a rechargeable battery for even more flexibility. A unique hand operator allows a fine regulation of the aspiration flow and accepts a variety of adapters. The 0.5 l glass bottle is quickly exchanged and all components coming in contact with liquids can be autoclaved. If the inactivation of the liquid waste is carried out externally, a disposable bottle may be used. Features and benefits: • Integrated, silent pump makes the VACUSIP location-independent. • The battery version eliminates cable mess in a laminar flow hood and increases mobility. • Automated pump shut-off optimizes battery run-time and pump life. • Quick exchange of waste bottle due to screw cap sealing. • Hydrophobic filter prevents aerosols and liquid from entering the system. • Very compact and space saving, HxWxD: 345x120x162 mm only. • No additional equipment necessary and maintenance free
