Time and money saver for media/spent media analysis.
Application Area: Analyze spent media samples
"The Rebel instrument by 908Devices is a wonderful instrument. The instrument functions as a mini mass spectrometer and can analyze amino acids, vitamins, and metabolites in spent media samples. This can be done in a matter of minutes per sample and only needs a starting spent media sample in the uL range (I typically only need about 50 uL per sample). Each chip can run 200 samples but that includes any duplicates/triplicates. If you are running all 200 samples it usually only take 15-24 hours to run them all depending if all. Their support team is great at anything you need and also helps with training and data processing. If there is a chip failure they will help asses the possible cause and will replace your chip when you send them the failed one. Prep time is minimal and only takes the time to filter the first diluted sample and then do any serial dilutions depending how many dilutions you plan to run. The instrument does the rest of the heavy lifting and time, where the user just has to wait for it to be done. They also have a range finding capability to see what dilution factor(s) would be best for your sample. If doing several samples from a bioreactor run or production model just be aware the the later days in the run will generally have less from consumption and a lower dilution factor may be needed. This instrument is a time saver over traditional spent media analysis methods and also can save on time and money if you are having to send your samples out for further analysis."
The Rebel lets you run comprehensive media analysis when and where you want it. Whether you are an upstream engineer taking samples from bioreactors, a media design group formulating chemically-defined blends or an analytical scientist supporting the needs of several groups, the Rebel eliminates analytics bottleneck and accelerates development cycles.
Skip the status quo
YOU run the Rebel alongside your bioreactors. The core lab doesn’t have to lift a finger. In 7 minutes you’ll get a quantitative list of amino acids, dipeptides, water soluble vitamins and amines. Combine that with your other standard biochemical markers and make decisions in a snap. You’ll save process development cycles by weeks, if not more.
You say when and where
The Rebel is simple. Pull a bioreactor sample, spin it down, and dilute. Load it in and hit start. Run samples solo or in 96-well plates if you’re a real go-getter.
There’s no futzing around with settings or analysis either. The Rebel already knows which knobs to turn, and data analysis is validated ahead of time. At the end of the run, you’ll have a full report on analytes detected and their concentration. Reports are uploaded to network drives automatically, so you can check results remotely too.
Unbox and go
Rebel consumable kits make it easy. Reagents are premixed, and each kit comes with electrolyte, diluent, standards, sample plates, and a chip. That’s everything you need to run 200 samples. All in one box.
