Fantastic water purification system!

Average Rating 4.7

Application Area:

Veterinary Sciences

This system is very well manufactured! We have several of these systems pairs with a 75L reservoir. The downfall is that the reservoir, of course, should not be used as a supply of testing quality water, but it does work well for cleaning/rinsing of equipment. The system consistently delivers of 18.2 Mega ohms of water, even when under constant use. Consumables are easy to replace, which is an excellent feature since regular maintenance is key to the proper functionality of the equipment. Cons: The little plastic handle to dispense water from the unit has broken in the past. A more robust handle dispenser would be an improvement. With that said, the handle is very easy to replace!

Inspired by Nature – Creating Innovative New Materials for Biomedicine

After a skin injury, our body normally triggers a complex wound healing process to repair the damage. Scientists are investigating the use of tissue engineering to mimic the body’s natural processes and help promote the healing of chronic wounds. In a recent study published in Carbohydrate Polymers, scientists create porous 3D scaffolds made of a naturally-occurring polysaccharide derived from crustacean shells and demonstrate their wound-healing potential.

Laboratory Water: A key Reagent for Experimental Success

Every day, scientists around the world are using water for a multitude of purposes. But the quality of this reagent is too important to ignore - contaminants and variabilities in laboratory water are putting too many results at risk. This guide shares ELGA’s expert knowledge about laboratory water and water purification technologies. Different levels of water purity are explored and some of the challenges around choosing what to use for a successful experimental outcome at the most economical cost are examined.

Optimized Ion Exchange for Pure Water

This poster presentation shows how optimizing ion exchange technology can ensure consistent, impurity free water for the lab. Jim Keary, ELGA Labwater, outlines the advantages of a twin cartridge ion exchange system and clearly illustrates this with the use of two studies.
