Great service
Lab research; sample prep and HPLC use
This is the second ELGA Classiv UV product we've had. I used to do the maintenance but with the new unit decided to put maintenance on contract. Our representative Joe Crusco is very knowledgeable and nice. He answers any questions you may have and is very professional.

Great engineer. Solved our issue. Went above and beyond.
Analytical Lab
Kunal Kshirsagar was the FSE for two of our Water Systems at Roche, Santa Clara. I’m the Systems Support Engineer here and work in with my manager to schedule these PMs. Kunal reached out directly to me several times at the beginning of the month saying these are due. Due to some changes on our end, I didn’t ask Kunal until last week to come by. He even mentioned that he would be busy. Unfortunately, by the time I got back to Kunal he was already booked for 3 weeks. But I still reached out and luckily, he worked his schedule for us even though he didn’t have to. We had issues on our end and asked Kunal to come out last minute as this is a critical instrument for us that was due for a PM by OCT 31st. Kunal is a great engineer and was very professional and clear with us since I’ve met him. I appreciate how transparent he was with us and that’s what I appreciate as a scheduler. The majority of FSE’s that I’ve worked with lack communication and respect. Kunal is the exception. I can only hope to have the level of communication, professionalism, and empathy in other FSE’s that I deal with.

Great lab water purifier/deionizer
Electrochemical biosensor development
The water purifier/deionizer can deionized distilled water up to 20 megaohm.cm (commonly found deionizer in market only up to recommended level of 18.2 megaohm.cm). One control knob to start and stop the water flow, as well as controlling the water flowrate, also makes it convenience to be used in lab.

Lengthy repair lead times
Water purification for shared biotech lab
Our water purification system is used on a daily basis in our lab. We were disappointed with how long it took to schedule the repair when our conductivity sensors started malfunctioning. I would appreciate it if Velolia could provide remote support to allow us to conduct more of these minor repairs ourselves. We appreciate our technician's assistance but hope that Veolia will keep this in mind when designing future instruments.

Improving Fingerprint Analysis in Criminal Investigations
In this application note, discover a new sensitive technique for fingerprint examination allowing forensic scientists to gain more information - such as visualizing hidden fingerprints left on challenging surfaces or analyzing the chemicals in residues.
Inspired by Nature – Creating Innovative New Materials for Biomedicine
After a skin injury, our body normally triggers a complex wound healing process to repair the damage. Scientists are investigating the use of tissue engineering to mimic the body’s natural processes and help promote the healing of chronic wounds. In a recent study published in Carbohydrate Polymers, scientists create porous 3D scaffolds made of a naturally-occurring polysaccharide derived from crustacean shells and demonstrate their wound-healing potential.
Laboratory Water: A key Reagent for Experimental Success
Every day, scientists around the world are using water for a multitude of purposes. But the quality of this reagent is too important to ignore - contaminants and variabilities in laboratory water are putting too many results at risk. This guide shares ELGA’s expert knowledge about laboratory water and water purification technologies. Different levels of water purity are explored and some of the challenges around choosing what to use for a successful experimental outcome at the most economical cost are examined.
Ultrapure Water Essential for Direct Determination of Bisphenol A by HPLC -MS/MS
Until recently, bisphenol A (BPA) was widely used in the manufacture of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, and the risks associated with BPA remain highly controversial. As a result, numerous determinations of trace BPA are now carried out, creating the need for robust analytical processes. In this application note read how high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) offers extremely high sensitivity for BPA detection and how ELGA® pure water systems offer effective removal of BPA.
Optimizing ion exchange technology in laboratory water purification systems
The aim of the study presented in this poster was to outline the limitations of conventional single cartridge ion exchange resin cartridges and the limitations of in-line resistivity monitoring. The second goal was to determine the benefits of twin resin-bed cartridges with multi-stage resistivity monitoring in ultrapure water purification systems.
Purified Water for Mammalian and Bacterial Cell Culture
This application note shows that the use of Type I ultrapure water to effectively eliminate the presence of biologically active species and other contaminants which could interfere with the culturing process is essential. It also shows that general laboratory grade purified water (Type II) with low levels of bacterial and organic contamination is usually sufficiently pure for bacterial cell culture.
Enhanced Electrophoresis Performance with Type I Ultrapure Water
This application note describes a method of achieving consistent, reliable electrophoresis. A key requirement for electrophoresis is the use of water that does not contain any significant levels of biologically active molecules such as endotoxins, nucleases and proteases. Apyrogenic Type I ultrapure water is designed for use in enhancing electrophoresis. This note includes the importance of purifying water for eletrophoresis, and a section on Ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Introducing the PURELAB Chorus Range from ELGA
It is highly likely that water is the most commonly used solvent in your laboratory, thus it is important to ensure its quality is sufficient for your work. Watch this video to discover the PURELAB Chorus, the latest innovation from ELGA that will be showcased at Pittcon 2013.
Optimized Ion Exchange for Pure Water
This poster presentation shows how optimizing ion exchange technology can ensure consistent, impurity free water for the lab. Jim Keary, ELGA Labwater, outlines the advantages of a twin cartridge ion exchange system and clearly illustrates this with the use of two studies. Interview filmed by SelectScience at Pittcon 2012.
