As long as everything is in good operation, the application is top-notch. Simple and easy. It only needs to be topped up with water (distilled water) and it produces the purest hydrogen. Hydrogen generation for GC-FID
The unit is very easy to operate requiring only water and electricity. I like the built-in safety devices in the unit as well as the fact that we don't have to house and move hydrogen cylinders. When the unit is turned on, it quickly produces the gas.

A good hydrogen generator which stands up to 24/7 usage in the lab.
Used to produce hydrogen for a GC instrument.
This instrument works great, has a small footprint, and is easy to keep clean. Easy to attach two GC instruments to the generator with no performance issues. All of the fittings are easily accessible for disconnecting and reconnecting, and maintenance is a breeze. A separate jug allows you to keep the instrument hydrated without any interruption in the use. PEAK sales and service are readily available and very responsive to any questions which is great for labs that are running 24/7. Overall, no issues with this instrument, and after sales service and response have been what was promised.

Analysis of drugs of abuse and explosives by GC-MS
Researchers from Prof. Guido Verbeck’s group at the University of North Texas (UNT) carried out analysis of drugs of abuse (DOA) and explosives using an ion trap GC-MS to compare results when using helium and hydrogen carrier and buffer gas. As well as comparing the two gases, the group also assessed a number of ion volumes with different orifice diameters to look at their effect on sensitivity with either gas. With hydrogen increasingly being used as an alternative to helium for a number of GC analyses, this application demonstrates the analysis of DOA and energetic materials by GC-MS.
