Our procedures are clearly optimized with this instrument leading to an increase of the capacity of our screening platform.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Compound management of chemicals/screening.

Robust and reproducible. Non-contact fluidic device is an important advantage compared to traditional tips dispensing. Sub-microliter dispensing reduces time and operational costs while ensuring precision and accuracy. Appropriate for some of our activities, in particular for the preparation of assay plates for screening and cherry picking collection pre-plated.

Highly demanded instrument in our lab!

Average Rating 3.7

Application Area:

Compound transfers on to assay ready plates.

The Access Workstation is easy to use and is efficient in its functions. The Tempo software that comes with the Access Workstation is also user-friendly and reliable.

We've bought two systems and it's dramatically increased our throughput for both assay development and small scale drug screening programs.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Drug screening

I find this system to be fairly easy to use and robust for the most part. I would like to see if it's possible to add rubber grips on the fingers of the robot for better gripping of plates and to prevent damages to the plate barcodes. Also, we use the Combi nL primarily for DMSO bulk fill but leaving the line and valves in DMSO constantly has caused the valves to leak (these valves are very expensive to replace). I would suggest warning customers to not leave them in DMSO all the time.

Application Area:

Compound Screening

It takes a little time getting used to it but once familiar with it, it's very useful. It has proven to be one of the most reliable liquid dispensing workstations.

Application Area:

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing/Production

It has a high throughput and incredible reproducibility. "PARR” is excellent in terms of precision, accuracy, reliability and rapidity of results. A must in the laboratory workstation!

Application Area:

HTS Screening

This machine is very easy to use. It helps to save a lot time. However the 2.5nl increment limits some of the dose response curve flexibility. It would be nice if that increment could be lower. And aqueous dispensing would be really helpful for our assays as well.

Miniaturized Drug Sensitivity and Resistance Testing with the Echo® Liquid Handler and Access™ Workstation

Recently identified associations between variants of cancer genes and drug resistance increase the value for comprehensive drug sensitivity and resistance testing in combination with molecular profiling of cancer cells. This application note discusses the implementation of miniaturized drug sensitivity and resistance testing, at the Institute of Molecular Medicine in Finland (FIMM), with assay-ready plates produced by the Echo liquid handler.

Automated RT-qPCR Utilizing the Access™ Workstation, the Echo® Liquid Handler, and RealTime Ready™ Reagents

RT-qPCR has been increasingly utilized by researchers to quantify mRNA levels. Its widespread use has been limited by an often laborious multi-step process and high reagent cost. Recent advances in non-contact reagent dispensing and next generation one step lysis reagents are enabling scientists to generate high throughput data at a much faster rate. This application note, from LabCyte Inc., describes the automation of three complementary tools to generate high throughout RT-qPCR data; the Echo liquid handler, RealTime Ready cell lysis reagents, and the Access workstation.

Labcyte Echo 550 Accelerates Drug Discovery at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute

This video describes how acoustic liquid dispensing, using the Labcyte Echo® 550, is being used at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute and is helping to accelerate compound screening. Learn how the technology reduces the volume of compound needed for each experiment, thus enabling compounds to last longer and more data to be produced. The Institute hopes to use acoustic dispensing to help develop compounds that can be used as a start-point to design new targeted therapies for use in a personalized medicine setting.
